    I had very high expectations based on the reviews I read so that may help with the context here. The food was good, not great. It was overcooked in some cases, (fried octopus) and the veggies and potatoes were cold with the octopus. My husband's cocktail tasted like it had no bourbon in it at all. In other cases the food was just lacking in flavor and a little mushy (the crab noodles). The best thing we ate were the skewers - the mushrooms were DIVINE and the beef tongue and scallops were very good. My NA cocktail was delicious. We were sat near the door and it was a very cold night so I had to wear my coat the whole time which wasn't great. Staff was friendly and attentive but the food came a bit too fast - like within 30 minutes of our being sat down, all of it had arrived. The spring rolls were piping hot and tasty but again, I guess I expected a bit more complex flavors. The main reason we wouldn't return is it took us 30 minutes to get there from SW Portland and it didn't knock our socks off.

    Absolutely delicious! The pork bits with garlic rice was decadent and the eggplant dumplings were incredible. We ordered 5 or 6 plates for our table of 4 and everything was great. Service was quick and friendly. Highly recommend.

    Excellent service and food! Our server was friendly, helpful, and quick. Great recommendations on food. Authentic Filipino food with some twists. The lumpia was like my grandmothers. Amazing! We sat at the bar, but it was cozy and fun to watch the cooks. Would recommend and go bank for sure!

    My friend and I were visiting from San Diego and knew that we had to try Magna Kusina. We're both of Filipino descent and hold the cuisine dear to our hearts. The cocktails and nonalcoholic mixed drinks were such a great pairing to our meal. We enjoyed the inasal, kapis, lumpia, laing, sisig, and the dinuguan. My favorite dish was the dinuguan. It was done in the style of a katsu curry dish, which made for a fresh take on the stew. For anyone not familiar with Filipino food, I think the menu is a great reflection of the flavor profile that exists throughout the islands.

    The food was as delicious as always! Service is so sweet, very mindful of food allergies, and gives the best recommendations about menu items! Can’t wait to go back :)
