Macon Bistro & Larder is a locally owned neighborhood restaurant serving re-invented bistro cuisine in a warm, friendly atmosphere. Tony Brown, inspired by his southern roots and his world travels, brings together the cooking styles of Macon, Georgia, and Macon, France.
We have recently opened The Magnolia Room at Macon to accommodate more diners during dinner time. The Magnolia Room at Macon is located down the hall from Macon in the Chevy Chase Arcade on the left hand side and affords guests a more intimate and spacious dining experience. Depending on volume during peak dining times, your reservation may be seated in The Magnolia Room, offers the same great food and service.

I don’t want to tell you because you’ll all start showing up, but this place is a gem - lovely servers, classic and reliable menu, cozy space.

This is a wonderful restaurant. Service is delightful and the personnel make sure you have a wonderful experience. The menu is small , but everything is prepared to delight your taste buds ! Keeps me coming back!

I love this place! The food is excellent, and I really like the people who work here. It just feels good here. Feels like a bit of New Orleans, southern and French -- both the food, and the atmosphere. They make the best shrimp and grits around, plus their burgers are extremely delicious. They have half price burgers on Mondays, and I'm afraid I've gone from eating a burger once every two years, to thinking about these weekly. You should definitely try them! Salads are also good, everything is very good! Yummy! And high quality.

The food was very good, as it always has been in the many times we've eaten at Macon. The dining room is small and crowded, but works well enough given that reality. The service was disappointing , however. The servers were fine at the start, but rushed us later. We ordered drinks and a salad to split; my cocktail was excellent and the delicious salad was delivered on separate plates - great. We ordered our main dishes at that point. Those, however, were delivered in what seemed like only a few minutes later, while we were midway through the salad. In the future, we will plan to not order the main dish until we finish the starter, but we expect a restaurant of Macon's standards would time things better automatically.

We loved being there at happy hour and enjoying the wine, and had a lovely warm autumn day outside. The service and attention to customers is impeccable. We enjoyed the food options and look forward to going again.
