Lumen Detroit at Beacon Park offers a unique dining experience in the heart of the city, blending modern architecture with a vibrant park setting. The restaurant features floor-to-ceiling retractable windows and one of Detroit's largest outdoor patios, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor ambiance. Guests can enjoy seasonally inspired Modern American cuisine, craft cocktails, and an extensive bar selection, whether on the rooftop or by the cozy outdoor firepits. With its lively atmosphere and picturesque views of Beacon Park, Lumen is the perfect spot for any occasion.

We offer valet parking for $15 Wednesday-Sunday. There is also metered street parking available on a limited basis. Please note that reservations will be held for 15 minutes, after which they are subject to cancelation. We allot 2 hours per table for dining, after which we may ask for your table. Due to the possibility of inclement weather our patio tables are available on a first-come first-served basis.

    Our heated, full-service Private Chalets are currently available for reservations and can accommodate groups of up to 10. Please note that all Private Chalet reservations are subject to a $35 per person food and beverage minimum (tax & gratuity not included) which is due at the time of booking. This $35 per person charge will be deducted from the bill the night of your reservation. All Private Chalet reservations are allotted 2 hours for dining, after which we may ask for the table. Because of limited availability and high demand, your 2-hour time begins at the time of your reservation. A 20% gratuity may be added to ALL Chalet reservations. Chalet Reservations are refundable up to 48 hours in advance, after which all sales are final.

    Everything was superb at Lumen. From the design to the dessert, this is a winner. Our meal was excellent, and our service from Rylee was outstanding (sorry if I spelled your name wrong). And dessert, wow! Don't pass up the butter cookie banana cream pie. That is worth the trip alone.

    The food and service was amazing. The ambiance was top tier and so happy to find a spot that offers valet for an additional price. 2 entrees, 2 appetizers, 2 beers, 2 cocktails and a kids meal. A little over $200 with 29% gratuity included.

    Arrived quite early to our reservation and decided to have a drink at the bar. Chelsea was our bartender and she was terrific, finding out what we were in the drink mood for, making recommendations from their cocktail list. She quickly elevated our experience by being attentive and personable, so we decided to cancel our table reservation and stay at the bar for dinner. Bar was busy throughout our stay but low on noise level , so it was easy to carry on normal conversations.

    Food came out to quickly- for an upscale restaurant bus boys wearing jeans and cap and hoodie looks pretty unprofessional. Food did not come to everyone at once. Disappointed.

    We had a shanty and enjoyed the privacy they offer. Fantastic food as always.

    Have had meals at the restaurant with some significant frequency and usually find that everything is wonderful. Not so much tonight. Was there with a foursome and received water not sufficiently hot for the tea. Apparently there was some problem with your machine. Also had their brownie ice cream dessert, and the brownies were very hard and seemed to be stale. The entrees were very good as usual.

    We had a lovely Christmas Eve dinner. Our server Claire was helpful and personable. We noticed that even though music was playing and the restaurant was full, we could talk in normal conversational tones and hear each other.

    We had an awesome experience here for our annual Christmas Eve/Birthday dinner with our family. The restaurant and surrounding area was decorated beautifully, it is so nice to see Detroit aglow again. Our server; Donovan; was very attentive in spite of having several tables; he anticipated our every need and helped to make the evening very enjoyable. Every entree was presented beautifully; complements to the chefs; it made for a very memorable experience and we will definitely be back. The food was excellent overall; the only complaint was that the Chicken Milano was a little dry; two of us had it and it was the same for both; maybe add a little more of the wonderful sauce that came with it. One minor complaint; as mentioned the ambience was awesome at this restaurant but the lights seemed to "strobe" with the light music playing in the background. Four people in our party would be considered senior citizens and we all noticed the lights flickering to the beat of the music; this may not even be noticeable to younger people though. Overall though we all recommend this restaurant to anyone; the owners obviously care a great deal and have created a perfect dining experience.
