Lumen Detroit at Beacon Park offers a unique dining experience in the heart of the city, blending modern architecture with a vibrant park setting. The restaurant features floor-to-ceiling retractable windows and one of Detroit's largest outdoor patios, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor ambiance. Guests can enjoy seasonally inspired Modern American cuisine, craft cocktails, and an extensive bar selection, whether on the rooftop or by the cozy outdoor firepits. With its lively atmosphere and picturesque views of Beacon Park, Lumen is the perfect spot for any occasion.

We offer valet parking for $15 Wednesday-Sunday. There is also metered street parking available on a limited basis. Please note that reservations will be held for 15 minutes, after which they are subject to cancelation. We allot 2 hours per table for dining, after which we may ask for your table. Due to the possibility of inclement weather our patio tables are available on a first-come first-served basis.

    Our heated, full-service Private Chalets are currently available for reservations and can accommodate groups of up to 10. Please note that all Private Chalet reservations are subject to a $35 per person food and beverage minimum (tax & gratuity not included) which is due at the time of booking. This $35 per person charge will be deducted from the bill the night of your reservation. All Private Chalet reservations are allotted 2 hours for dining, after which we may ask for the table. Because of limited availability and high demand, your 2-hour time begins at the time of your reservation. A 20% gratuity may be added to ALL Chalet reservations. Chalet Reservations are refundable up to 48 hours in advance, after which all sales are final.

    We had a lovely Christmas Eve dinner. Our server Claire was helpful and personable. We noticed that even though music was playing and the restaurant was full, we could talk in normal conversational tones and hear each other.

    We had an awesome experience here for our annual Christmas Eve/Birthday dinner with our family. The restaurant and surrounding area was decorated beautifully, it is so nice to see Detroit aglow again. Our server; Donovan; was very attentive in spite of having several tables; he anticipated our every need and helped to make the evening very enjoyable. Every entree was presented beautifully; complements to the chefs; it made for a very memorable experience and we will definitely be back. The food was excellent overall; the only complaint was that the Chicken Milano was a little dry; two of us had it and it was the same for both; maybe add a little more of the wonderful sauce that came with it. One minor complaint; as mentioned the ambience was awesome at this restaurant but the lights seemed to "strobe" with the light music playing in the background. Four people in our party would be considered senior citizens and we all noticed the lights flickering to the beat of the music; this may not even be noticeable to younger people though. Overall though we all recommend this restaurant to anyone; the owners obviously care a great deal and have created a perfect dining experience.

    Nick at the bar is amazing, my boyfriend and I are regulars and we he knows our order by heart at this point. Service is always quick especially considering how busy it gets.

    We were pleasantly surprised by the food at Lumen. We’d heard the restaurant was more about location than food so my expectations were low. However, everything we ate was delicious! Do not skip the cookie butter banana pie!

    Beautiful at night! The food was good… a bit pricey for the serving size of Chilean Bass. Tasty but pricey.

    It's very nice inside the restaurant. All the windows give a great view. Food was all delish! Problem is the service. It's so strange. There is zero enthusiasm. No one was unfriendly, they were just blah. Could barely hear our waitress' voice. Never introduced herself. The first thing she said was "Do you want anything to drink besides water?" How about "Hello! My name is __________ and I will be your server" or "Welcome to Lumen. Are you celebrating anything?" or a million other phrases. The food runner just started dropping off plates without regard to who ordered what. Zero friendliness. It's a beautiful restaurant, food is great, but I have no desire to go back, due to the bored, untrained staff.
