LIMA CANTINA is born out of a desire to bring the soul of LIMA to London: its flavoursome daily life, with simple dishes directly inspired by markets & home cooked meals. The restaurant’s chefs use traditional cooking methods to transform quality UK and Peruvian sourced ingredients into mouth-watering dishes. The menu delivers classics such as Pollo a la Brasa (arguably the national dish of Peru and possibly the best roast chicken you’ve ever had), whilst retaining signature Ceviches and Pisco Sours, and many more Lima locals’ favourites. The restaurant’s vibe is warm and modern with a hint of nostalgia.                                                         Best food I had in London in months. Slow to come, but quality and taste were absolutely amazing, I will definitely come back, and I've already recommended it.

                                                        Lovely environment. Great that the time limits on tables are generous given there were five of us having a catch up. We never felt rushed as service was friendly and very helpful. Of the starters the ceviche was standout. The beef tacos needed a touch of salt and a squeeze of lime but were still tender. The aubergine at £17 was a massive price for half an aubergine with miso. Pork ribs tender and the beef tartare a bit disappointing. Mostly because of the base but it needed more oomph. Mainwise the octopus was delicious and tender, the roast chicken was flavoursome but overpriced and the beef rib eye was beautifully cooked. Flavour from the charring was incredible and it was perfect. The cocktails were very good.

                                                        The food was very good (delicious ceviche and rotisserie chicken were the highlights). However we were disappointed for the service, which was very transactional. On a couple of occasions we asked for a recommendation (e.g. "which of the light bites would you recommend") and were met with a fairly uninterested response, along the lines of "depends what you fancy". There was no attempt to explain any of the dishes, check in on how the food / experience was during the meal etc - all quite disappointing for a relatively expensive meal.

                                                        Considering Lima is a Peruvian restaurant I would expect the ceviche to be far more delicious than it was. I would also expect them to make better disco sours - it was far too sweet!

                                                        The restaurant was pretty empty. The staff were very attentive. Some of the food was absolutely delicious (corn ribs, beef taco), some less so (quinoa salad). The pisco sours were wonderful. The meal was way too expensive.

                                                        as a Peruvian, I know we can be a little bit picky with the food but honestly the pollo a la brasa was really good. if I ever go back to London, I will definitely go back to Lima Cantina just for the chicken.
