Das Legal on the Mystic wurde in Anlehnung an die industrielle Vergangenheit des Ortes erbaut und kombiniert zeitgenössische und traditionelle Elemente. Die Zusammenstellung der Speisekarte soll ein kulinarisches Erlebnis in ungezwungener, geselliger Atmosphäre schaffen. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf Gerichten zum Teilen, Salaten, Pizza, Sandwiches und Takkos, aber es gibt auch klassischere Hauptspeisen im Legal. Das Design des Legal on the Mystic wurde von der Zeit der frühen Industrialisierung geprägt, die auf dem Assembly-Platz stattgefunden hat. Der Einsatz von Materialien wie Stahlrohren, Metallgittern, Stahl, Beton und Ziegeln verleiht dem Raum ein industrielles Ambiente, das an die Geschichte erinnert. Die offene Küche dient als Hintergrund des Restaurants, die Bar steht im Mittelpunkt.     In our reservation, I'd requested a table beside a window. When we arrived 15 minutes late, & during a snowstorm, instead of apologizing that there were no such tables available (if that was true), the host complained about our lateness & then seated us in the middle of the restaurant, next to the kitchen. Would've been nice to watch the snow falling. Daniella, our server, did a good job, but this turned into a pretty disappointing Valentine's celebration.

    Host and experience was great, little bit confused when we had to wait 15 minutes only for two semi-warm bread rolls. The fish was great but some of the vegetables tasted like they were just boiled and thrown on a plate, no seasoning on them whatsoever. Other than that, good place to enjoy a meal.

    Excellent service and the food was great! In fact although I planned on chowder and baked lobster, after the chowder came, I couldn't eat all the lobster and took the remainder home. Now I have joyful leftover memories. Slept good as well. It was a wonderful experience!

    Great, quick service and our meal was brought to us hot and right out of the kitchen. Food was as good as it was decades ago. All fresh fish and tasty sides. Chowder was the best and had just enough pieces of clams and chunks of potatoes. Rolls warm and filling.

    As usual, everything was great—food, service, atmosphere. Our server was extremely kind and patient with my grandson. However, I didn’t get points for this visit, even though I showed our server the app and gave him my cell number

    The bartender seemed confused that we asked for napkins and silverware. She was doubly confused when we asked for rolls. She brought our oysters before our drinks. The oysters were very tasty but whoever shucked them didn’t release them from the shell so that makes them difficult to eat. The Caesar salad dressing was not good. The chowder was fine, good clam flavor. And I know it’s my fault for trying the non alcoholic rose but there are some decent ones, the one you have is yucky. We won’t be back anytime soon.

    New Years Eve dinners can be hit and miss- sometimes with limited menus or short staffing. We were happy to book reservations for four just a bit in advance and were warmly greeted and seated. Our server was perfect- attentive, responsive, patient and knowledgeable. There's an extensive menu of mostly seafood but also some salads and meats. Scanning a QR code provided updated information of the sourcing location of most of the seafood on the menu- a very nice touch and indicative of the fact that Legal is a great place for fresh seafood. I was surprised that the beer menu was so limited although the drink menu and wine choices were better. There was a big surprise- there were no grilled scallops to be found which was what several of us were looking for. The scallop casserole could be lightened up to have mostly lightly breaded baked scallops which were ok, but I'm still surprised that a staple like grilled scallops weren't available. Other meals included surf and turf with twin filets and a lobster tail- all well prepared. For me the treat of the night was the octopus appetizer, which was tender, tasty and beautifully plated. My tuna was initially ordered rare by me but because of the type of cut I sent it back for a bit more cooking- which was done perfectly- a huge portion. All in all, a solid meal with great service.

    Grilled salmon was fresh and delicious- curried veggies, and street corn were also tasty. We liked the thick cod loins as well - and whipped potatoes were perfect. A fellow who brought us the food carefully described what he was bringing us, and gave the right food to the right person who ordered it. Our waitress was attentive and very efficient. We always have a good experience at Legal. We'll be back soon!

    I missed the backless stool option while reserving. Some elderly of our party needed seats with backs but staff were able to accommodate us with good seats. Food and service was fine with minor service delays on Christmas Eve.
