$200 per plate for NYE was a JOKE. And they added a 4% charge for what?! Gouging like that will get me to never return. $500 for two people for mediocre dinner and ONE glass of champagne at midnight. NEVER again.

We pre paid $200.00 per person for dinner (which did not include alcohol) and were told we would have access to the New Year celebration. Hubby ordered the prime rib, which was adequate, and I ordered the Lobster Gnocchi, which was soggy covered in a bad-tasting tomato sauce, and had two tiny pieces of Lobster. We continually asked the hostess with the strong accent at the entrance where we could get our horderves and Champaign after dinner, which we prepaid for and was supposed to be included in our package but never provided. Not enough bartenders to order cocktails, and the receptionists and supporting staff looked bored and disinterested in their jobs until midnight when everyone left.

Three hours before the reservation (for NYE) I got a call saying; "oops we charged you the wrong amount" and we are now going to charge you an additional 400 dollars for the pre-fix dinner; call and we can cancel you if you don't agree... I mean really; I made my reservation a month in advance and 3 hours before the NYE event you call and say that... that is unacceptable. There was no way to get a reservation anywhere else 3 hours before and I was traveling to make the event at the time. Horrible, to say the least.

It is a lovely spot for beach front dining but damn that dining room is always freezing because of the door that is always left open out to the patio. The food is good but not enough to justify some of the pricing. One very annoying thing I find is that coming through the lobby to the restaurant the music is ungodly loud. Service can be very good but they get rattled easily. Not enough to keep me away forever - I have lived in Laguna for 55 years and am familiar with the hotel since it's early days even before moving nearby.

Lovely restaurant with a wonderful view of the ocean. Saw many dolphins near the surf. It was cold and the door was left open but they brought us blankets. I had fish and chips which were not cooked to a doneness that I like. (I should have sent them back) Waiter took our plates before we finished snacking on our fries. Overall it is a nice restaurant but a bit disappointed in my lunch.

Absolutely wonderful experience. Incredibly, I booked the table too late in the evening and we missed the sunset. The staff is just lovely and the portions were extremely generous and I was surprised. I’m very particular about cocktails and I would say this was a nine out of 10, Definitely Craft.

$175 per person. The tiniest appetizer which would not have filled a teaspoon of the four entrees we ordered one salad was very good; a blue cheese wedge salad. Three ordered the Halibut entree which was dry and tasteless with no noticeable flavoring; spice or salsa or sauce. One guest ordered prime rib; no yorkshire pudding; no au jus and no horseradish sauce. No bread or butter. And the best part yet; the dessert choices were apple pie or pecan pie and when it was time to serve 'the ovens were not working'. They had to substitute what they had on hand. It was DRAFTY and cold with thoughtless servers going in an out of the dining room leaving the doors open each time. Not a pleasant Christmas eve. A memorable and unpleasant and ridiculously expensive evening. Dinner for four at $900 and that was with a total of two glasses of wine and one cocktail I have lived in Laguna for 40 plus Years. My husband was a bellhop at the hotel in the 1940's. I hosted his memorial service at the hotel 20 years ago when it was regal and old nostalgia grand.

Going on a Monday was a nice way to enjoy the restaurant and not the crowds. All the food choices were delicious and the service were nice and welcoming. Can’t wait to go back.
