Lardo in Mexico City is known for chef Elena Reygadas' cooking of Mediterranean food from a wood burning oven. Diners are encouraged to share. We do not accept pets.
Lardo serves breakfast with egg dishes like croque madame and sandwiches. For dinner, choose from a number of small plates like ham, cheese and salads. There are also pastas, pizzas and grilled foods like octopus with chorizo, tuna, calamari, squid and beef. Desserts at Lardo include tiramisu and sorbets. A large attractive bar with excellent vintages along with the open kitchen provide a fun place to enjoy a meal.

Our waiter seemed new. Didn’t really guide us in our choices when we wavered . Didn’t check on us, didn’t get our coffee until well after dessert .

The food was very good but the portions were skimpy and expensive for the amount they served. The lamb kebabs was expected to be a dinner portion and was more of a lunch portion with no sides.

Was hesitant to dine here for dinner because I’d only had the breakfast/lunch/brunch recommended but it was perfection! The house bread alone could have made me happy to go home but every bite after that was better than the one before. We tried the hummus which was some of the best I’ve had, the squash blossoms with the tastiest red sauce and ricotta inside, the roasted chicken which I was afraid would be boring but it was cooked perfectly and the sauce, almost like a light gravy was the perfect complement. The lamb kabobs were also insanely delicious with the best pickles and yogurt sauce inside the fluffiest tortilla/wrap I’ve ever tasted. SO good. Wine was delicious, ambiance we so moody and cozy with tropical plants surrounding us while the rain came down out the open windows. It was just great. Definitely try it!!
