Located at 699 14th Street on the coveted corner of 14th and G Street NW, La Grande Boucherie is situated on the most high-profile street in Washington D.C., just one block away from the White House. The restaurant is built in elegant and ornamental Art Nouveau style, evoking the sense of optimism from the turn of the 20th century. The brasserie’s menu features both classic and modern French dishes, with focus on the meat program, raw bar and extravagant large-format meats, ideal for sharing and celebrating. Mahogany wood and glass partitions divide the gargantuan space to create intimate dining experiences. These pieces are adorned in gilded accents and uniquely curved arches inspired by the 20th-century Art Nouveau movement of Paris. The main dining room highlights a massive curved bar with a metal top imported from Paris, a signature piece of Boucherie.

We really liked the atmosphere, the food, the vibe, and especially the service. The type of music could be more French, but it’s nothing that bothered us.

Went for Sunday brunch. Our server Gloria was amazing; very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. She gave great suggestions. All of our dishes, including dessert, were delicious. A great value as well, as the prices were reasonable for a restaurant of this quality. We've been to the La Grande in NYC as well and this one in DC is as good if not a little better. Great location as well! Highly recommended!

The food was good, overall. We had the pear salad, charcuterie and fromage as an appetizer. The salad was described as arugula, but what came out was actually a spring mix pear salad. Cheeses and charcuterie were good. 2 of us had the Bavette Diane, and I thought mine was cooked perfectly and delicious, but my friend thought hers was a little chewy, but still had good flavor. Overall, a good dining experience on what appeared to be a very busy Saturday night. I would return to this restaurant.

The dry aged steak was really good and cooked to right temperature. Zeno was our waiter and was attentive and friendly and gave good recommendations.

What an experience made possible by one person! I’ve seen this place and was curious about the hype of the stunning physical beauty of the interior and food selection. I came on a wedding anniversary and truly was impressed by my first impressions. Food The selection of steaks is truly something to marvel, Chateaubriand, dry aged, bone in ribeyes, and bone marrow wow! The bread was amazing and the butter so delicious the salt added to bread basket when added to the bread was a perfect bite. I ordered the Chateaubriand for two, lobster bisque, and pear salad. The salad was fresh but I do not care for any type of onion especially red as I find them to be over powering. While I admit I must have missed the description that mentioned onions in the salad I was prepared to “eat” the cost for my mistake. The server offered to remove the salad which was nice. The lobster bisque was rich and flavorful although despite having ordered two bowls I found that it lacked large lumps or even noticeable pieces of lobster in the bowls. While enjoying the bisque the Chef De Cuisine Chef Ahmed Ibrahim (who ultimately made this night go from good to spectacular) came to the table to engage with us. He asked did we come to celebrate anything we told him 13 year wedding anniversary and 12 year liver transplant anniversary for my son who is 12 years old (he had a transplant at 8 weeks old due to a dairy allergy/metabolic condition—galactosemia). The chef offered to provide desert and take us on a tour of the vault. They mysteries of the vault loomed over dinner as we were waiting with anticipation of a secret place—maybe it was where the most prized meats are stored or black truffle. The chef left us in suspense and I was here for the mystery. The chef prepared a special dish for my son since he was able to have spaghetti. The fresh pasta was a hit and the shrimp was certainly well prepared. Check Yelp and google for a more full review

Second time here, the first time was marvelous this time it was awful. The appetizers were good, not excellent. The entrees were cold. The scallops were cold and so was the coq au vin. Probably will not return.

Came back for the 2nd time to a great meal and great service. Amine was our server and he was exceptional. Warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and not too invasive. Danielle the bar manager was also very kind and engaging. Enjoyed the wagyu carpaccio and the ribeye, among other items, and the basque cheesecake was a perfect end to the meal. Grateful for a lovely date night. Thank you, La Grande Boucherie!
