Located at 699 14th Street on the coveted corner of 14th and G Street NW, La Grande Boucherie is situated on the most high-profile street in Washington D.C., just one block away from the White House. The restaurant is built in elegant and ornamental Art Nouveau style, evoking the sense of optimism from the turn of the 20th century. The brasserie’s menu features both classic and modern French dishes, with focus on the meat program, raw bar and extravagant large-format meats, ideal for sharing and celebrating. Mahogany wood and glass partitions divide the gargantuan space to create intimate dining experiences. These pieces are adorned in gilded accents and uniquely curved arches inspired by the 20th-century Art Nouveau movement of Paris. The main dining room highlights a massive curved bar with a metal top imported from Paris, a signature piece of Boucherie.

                Came in for a 9pm reservation, I sat at the bar. Got an old fashioned to start. No water service is offered, no menu, no bread. I walked out at 9:38 pm after being ignored. I Came hungry and left hungry. Aesthetics are gorgeous, but sadly, no SOUL. This is a VERY superficial venue, 5 -star look, but 1-star experience! I will NOT be coming back

                I was with my children. They are teenagers and very well behaved. Our order was incorrect and had to be restated to the kitchen. The service was friendly but slow and untrained to handle a steady flow of customers. Ambiance is stunning. Food was ok. The service requires formal training. I would return for drinks at the bar. Unlikely to return to eat with the children.

                The good: the place was beautiful and the food was great. The bad: we had to ask 3 times for coffee. We didn't get our coffee until a minute before our food arrived. I'd suggest having one person who's job it is to get coffee and refill water. We had to track down the waiter for water also. The waiter didn't even apologize for the long wait for the coffee. When i said we are still waiting for the coffee-she just walked away. Also another server tried to bring the wrong drinks to our table. So it seems like the staff needs to be trained better.Also, the put all the parties in the same section of the place, so we were all squashed together, instead of spreading people out. I get that you want to see people to make it easier for the servers, but it would be a better experience for your customers.

                My second time coming to this place and it was amazing once again. Thank you Bolade Burton for taking great care of me on both occasions. Food and service always on point. Of course Ill be back again for a 3rd visit.

                Amine was our server, and he was incredible!! Attentive, friendly, and full of great recommendations. I had the filet with green beans paired with the Chardonnay Amine suggested, and it was amazing. The atmosphere felt like something out of a movie—very old-school and charming. Everything was perfect! I highly recommend asking for Amine for outstanding service and recommendations.

                My fiancé and I came here with our families to celebrate our engagement and we could not have asked for better service. Moussine made the night spectacular and made us feel special! We will definitely be coming and asking for Moussine. 10/10 experience

                We were very excited to see the holiday decorations, but overall experience was just fine. Far too expensive for the quality of service. Arrived 5 minutes early for our reservation at 6:45 and weren’t seated until 7, though many people with 7:00 reservations were seated ahead of us (they checked in immediately ahead of us). We were seated by the bar which was fine but noisy, and there were other tables that might have been further out of the bustle. True to the French style, our table was also incredibly close to our neighbors, and I felt like we were dining with them rather than the private anniversary dinner it was supposed to be. Service during was fine, nothing standout and we were often forgotten, having to ask multiple times for additional bread. We were seated immediately next to a bussing station, and there were some staff issues occurring, which we overheard all of the heated disagreements clearly; not the best environment while having a special dinner or great optics for the restaurant. For the price, I’d much rather go somewhere that has a better experience. Gorgeous building and decor though.
