La Cucina is a NEW authentic Italian pizzeria and restaurant in the heart of downtown Kitchener. Although a new location, the owners are not new to Italian food. With strong Italian roots, a passion to create authentic Italian food and a love of quality and fresh ingredients, La Cucina Pizzeria will soon be your favourite spot to eat and hang-out. The irresistible aromas from our custom-built Malagutti pizza oven will draw you in, and the delicious dishes that emerge from it will keep you coming back for more. Malagutti has been creating these refractory stone culinary masterpieces for over four decades. You will be able to see your pizza or calzone cooked right before your eyes.
The Pizzeria will be serving more than just pizza slices: our menu includes antipasti, homemade pastas, paninis, and larger dishes like Veal Parmigiana and Porchetta.

We were a table for 2 in the corner by the garage door. Very nice location and not drafty at all on a cool night. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu, and very personable. We ordered the burrata to start/share. The cheese portion to tomatoes/basil was imbalanced - more of each is required for the full flavour. We asked for a side of balsamic reduction (highly recommended). The freshness of the burrata was impeccable.
We then took advantage of their $19 pasta day, my partner ordering the lasagna and myself the truffle ravioli. Both were very good, my partner said the tomato sauce was a bit too sweet for his liking, but overall, he enjoyed it. My ravioli was perfect.
We decided to order a pizza to go, but of course had to try some before we left. The outer crust was done perfect and the amount of toppings was fair. It was quite soggy towards the middle (not uncooked, just too many peppers/sauce that made it wet on the thin crust, but nothing the air fryer couldn't fix for the next day.
The ambiance is probably the worst part of the dining experience. Big screen TVs playing the hockey game (albeit, on silent), and the noise that carried throughout the (not even) half filled space, took away from the overall enjoyment. We found ourselves having to talk louder than usual and wondered what it would sound like when at capacity.
With that being said, it was more authentic tasting than most "Italian" restaurants in the kw area, so I'd return again if I was craving a homemade pasta/pizza and no complaints on the service whatsoever.

Our experience at La Cucina was fantastic. The staff were polite and efficient and the food was incredible! We will definitely go back (again!)

We ordered Margherita and Abruzzese pizzas, the pizza dough was wet and sometimes we couldn't even get the middle parts while eating. We didn't like the taste overall. we didn't feel like we were eating wood fired pizza. The ambiance was nice and it was crowded, but if I go again I probably won't eat pizza. Still it can be given a chance.

Met a friend for lunch at free the normal lunch hour rush. Food was fresh and delicious. Served was very friendly. Great value.
