Nestled amongst riverside treetops on Southgate’s mid level, La Camera boasts two balconies with stunning views over The Yarra River and iconic Flinders Street Station. The interior is adorned with vintage black-and-white photographs depicting the history of the family that has owned and operated the restaurant since it opened in 2000. La Camera Southgate offers an array of authentic Italian dishes including unique Roman-style pizzas, authentic Pappardelle Ox Cheek from Trastevere-Rome and by far the most delectable Tiramisu in town. The emphasis is on quality ingredients, and fresh seasonal produce.

The staff were magnificent and engaging. The views beautiful thus the ambience lovely. The food however was very ordinary and not well presented possibly geared too much towards people with big appetites (large serves) but taste issues : no chili, no garlic, no this nor that.

La Camera is our go-to restaurant when we want to eat in the city, whether it’s for a pre- or after-show meal or a date night. The food is consistently good and the service is always friendly. Plus the location is great!

The food some of it was nice but the chicken and roast potatoes very oily not very good at all. The fish and Cabonara was better

Incredible experience as always. Food is second to none, service is the most pleasant I’ve received out of anywhere in Melbourne. Highly recommend! :)

We come here every December as an annual Xmas celebration! Every year they never fail to impress. Great food and service and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend

Our group enjoyed their visit. Of the seven of us, six meals were fabulous, with one saying her seafood pasta was the best she’s ever eaten. The beef cheeks were disappointing. Value of the meals was good and our table on the balcony were great. Highly recommend.
