This is one of my favorite restaurants on the island, and I’m so happy they opened a location in my neighborhood. I especially love their seafood dishes, but honestly, everything on the menu is delicious. The staff here are always friendly and welcoming. Enjoying a meal with someone you love, paired with a glass of wine, makes for the perfect date night at this place.

Really nice meal. Tried the Lamb Ragu Pappardelle and was very happy with it. My father-in-law had the miso glazed pork chop and he was really, really happy with it. He liked it so much he gnawed off the bone to finish it off. A choice we made to avoid the cold temperature for inside dining, we did ask to sit outside and had to listen to the buses and Harleys. BUt was better than the cold insdie.

The lights should be turned down a bit for dinner. There was basically a spotlight right above my head

We had dinner at Kalapawai on a Tuesday night. We requested a table on the patio that we got. We had the Ahi Nachos as an appetizer (big portion) and the auction fish as our main dishes. The food was very good. The hazy IPA was also very good. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We had a lovely dinner and will return for sure.

The quality of all our dinners were excellent. Especially tasty was the Cottage Pie (similar to a shepherd's pie) and the steak. The salad was a great accompaniment for the pie. I am grateful for the friendliness of the staff, as I changed the reservation several times as our schedule came together. The only negative were the flies, but was expected as the space is very open and the servers were constantly going back and forth between the inside and outside seating areas.

We were thrilled to learn about this new restaurant in Kapolei and visited twice during the 2 weeks we were staying in Ko'Olina. There were some highs and lows in terms of food quality. The French onion soup was simply the best my husband and I have had .. and we order it a lot. I had the Peruvian chicken which was excellent. My husband had the lamb bolognese which he said was good but that he had had better. The crab and artichoke dip was good, but, likewise, not outstanding. What was puzzling given some of the complicated items on the menu was the terrible Margherita pizza, and that is so simple that it is hard to mess it up. The crust was like cardboard and there were no fresh tomatoes, just unpleasant tomato sauce smeared on. Avoid it at all costs. There seemed to be plenty of friendly servers, but both times we had to flag down someone to get drink refills or the check, etc., or even our food. The first time we chose to eat outside on the patio but the road noise was not ideal. We will give it another try when we return to the area but will definitely not order pizza!

This is our go to place for a nice casual dinner that always tastes great. The menu rotates just enough to enjoy favorite dishes and try new things in between. We come about once a month and we've never had a bad meal here!

Kalapawai Cafe is our favorite neighborhood restaurant. The food is always excellent, the service great and the atmosphere really nice. We go there regularly and are never disappointed. Good value for an all around great experience!
