   Went for date night with our best friends here. Our waitress was outstanding and the bartender was very friendly. We enjoyed our drinks and we loved the variety on the charcuterie board. However, my salmon came out raw and the quality of food isn’t worth the higher price (IMO).

   Drinks were good but food and service were not. I came as a group of 4. Two of us ordered dishes with salmon and the salmon tasted extra fishy and not fresh. My bagel was also soggy. One person in my group received the wrong order and had to send it back. Service was slow. Drinks were great and it’s a cute restaurant but probably wouldn’t return.

   Amazing staff! We mentioned we wanted to go to the rare books bar after our meal and our waitress got us on the list so we wouldn’t have to wait!

   I went here on my first date and the place was beautiful! Service was wonderful and we both really enjoyed the food. The menu has some twits to the recipes and thus not like most other restaurants. Which I appreciated! I would definitely come back here again soon!!!

   Love the atmosphere and the patio. But prices just way too high. A few good choices on the happy hour menu but that ends at 6;00. Regular menu even though good tasting food the prices are ridiculous. The speak easy attached is fun but drink prices even way higher that in the restaurant! I'll go back for the patio but not often. Waitstaff was very nice and efficient

   J Theodore has been our go-to for excellent food and service for years. However, the last three times we went, we noticed that they have now included a DJ at the door, and the music has been INSANELY loud - to the extent that you can’t hear the server or even the person next to you! Today, we finally asked to have it turned down, and I swear, it went up even more. A friend of ours arrived to join us, and immediately commented on the loudness, but the server said she had already told him, and that this was the third request already. When it went up again, our friend asked to speak to the manager. The manager arrived, and was able to turn the music down on her phone while she was standing in front of us. However, she then stated that she keeps going back-and-forth with the DJ, and that he keeps turning it back up. I’m not sure how this makes sense, since she was supposed to be the manager, but okay. We won’t be going back anytime soon. It completely ruins the ambiance, and there’s no point in paying those prices for a LOUD club atmosphere in what could be a beautiful, romantic place.
