A relaxed and informal restaurant in London’s definitive contemporary hotel One Aldwych, Indigo offers a creative and ever changing British menu, which is largely gluten and dairy-free.

Crafted by Executive Chef Dominic Teague, the menu showcases inventive dishes focusing on seasonal ingredients, carefully sourced from the British Isles. All food is beautifully prepared and lunch and dinner are entirely gluten and dairy-free, without compromising on quality ingredients or taste. From quinoa, Jerusalem artichoke, pomegranate and smoked almonds salad, in-house baked samphire bread and Rhug Estate Lamb, these are dishes that stand up on their own.

Indulge with roast sirloin of Irish beef with lashings of creamy horseradish and lighter-than-air Yorkshires. Room for pud? Karolyn's brûlée is an ode to Head Chef Dominic Teague's mother and is perfectly paired with vanilla cream, blood orange sorbet and cardamom. Reservations require a pre-payment of £105 per-person for lunch, which will be deducted from your bill on the day.

                                                              Indigo is an unusual restaurant perched on the mezzanine level of One Aldwych Hotel, which gives it a unique feel and a nice ambience. I have been there twice before, but will not go again. The prices are high, even for the pre-theatre meal at £42 for 2 courses and £49 for 3 courses - the a la carte is more expensive. I wouldn't mind paying this, as the quality is good, but the portions are VERY small, and we couldn't help feeling short changed. Tea/coffee with petit fours (2 chocolates) is an eye watering £7.

                                                              Outstanding food in lovely surroundings with great service. The pre-theatre menu is good value for a premium restaurant. The best part, though, is that every dish is gluten and dairy free. My wife is coeliac, and we were able to choose and share without concern. The complimentary bread is astonishing, and the best GF loaf I’ve ever tasted. We’ll be returning regularly.

                                                              One of our favorite meals yet. We did the vegan tasting. Though the first few courses varies on our preferences, the mains and dessert courses were all exceptional. A longish meal 2.5 hours, but the ambiance and service were great so we weren't bothered. The food was clearly well thought through with an emphasis on letting the local ingredients shine and avoided the bland palette of some vegan food.

                                                              Indigo offers diners a marvellous experience. The service is outstanding - nothing is too much trouble - and all the staff are impeccably trained to give top class customer service. The restaurant is beautifully appointed, with modern, subtle decor which complements the excellent food and wine. The widely-publicised gluten-free/dairy-free approach to the menu, and the fact that the kitchen is guaranteed 100% gluten-free, affords total confidence that I can choose anything on the menu. My family went for a special celebration lunch and nothing disappointed. Everyone at the restaurant contributed to make it a real landmark occasion, and something which we will never forget.

                                                              Fantastic place to eat. So glad to find a place with great ambience and a menu which is gluten-and dairy-free. And the food was delicious - the Suffolk pork (starter) melted in the mouth, as did the Milk chocolate cremeux (dessert). Service was just right, attentive, courteous but not 'in your face'. We had the set lunch, which at £50 for three courses is pretty good value. Will certainly revisit.
