Imad Alarnab was a successful restaurateur in Damascus with three restaurants, plus several juice bars and cafes. In the war, Imad's restaurants were destroyed and he was forced to flee the country in search of safety for his family. Making his way from Lebanon through Europe, Imad shared his skills cooking for other refugees, up to 400 at a time, and found even in the most challenging times, his passion for food and bringing people together to celebrate life was strong.

I've never had Syrian food before and absolutely loved the delicious food served today. Not only was the food full of flavour, but it was also beautifully presented, welcoming, and provided with good service. We shared a mixture of dishes - the same concept as Tapas - which enabled everyone to taste lots of the wonderful food on the menu. I'll be back!

Was recommended this restaurant by a friend. Went before the theatre, it was a great location. Lovely friendly helpful staff and really good atmosphere. Even though it’s quite big, it’s not noisy, a bonus for us. Enjoyed the food, delicious chicken dish and lovely dips.

I have been to Imad's several times, but this was the first time since they moved from the original smaller restaurant space nearby. The place was packed even at 3pm on Saturday, so booking is essential I would think. The food was as ever delicious, though I felt maybe the pricing has gone up a bit (not surprising I guess given increasing costs all round). The tables are small and very close together, though in some ways that helps to give it the noisy buzzy vibe. The old restaurant was smaller and seemed more intimate and friendly than this new set up - it was super busy and the staff were working hard and didn't have much time for pleasantries. I would still recommend Imad's and will no doubt go again, but it seems to have lost something in the transfer of premises.
