    We went to High Stakes for our New Years dinner and we were so very disappointed, They didn’t even have properly toasted bread (and it wasn’t sourdough bread). I ordered the steak frite and I received 3 little tiny steak medallions, cold fries and some of the worst slaw I’ve ever had! You guys really need to step it up if you want to keep customers coming in. Your prices point is expensive in comparison to the quality and test of the food. My sister and niece were not pleased with their meals either. Your service is good and the place is lovely, but you’ve got to fix your food! It was truly terrible!

    We came for New Year’s Eve dinner and we’re expecting a nice intimate restaurant unfortunately, the table we were seated at was underneath a bright white light which looked like a heat lamp. Making this look more like a fast food restaurant than an intimate dining experience. The service was excellent. The waitress was informative, attentive and cheerful. Unfortunately the food well good was very underwhelming in the portions served. Especially the steak Frites, which included a large mound of french fries a large chopped cabbage on the side and hidden underneath those were three small bites of steak, maybe 3 to 4 ounces in total. It was more like an appetizer than a meal.

    Overall good food.. a bit overpriced for the simplicity and portion size of the menu.. think it could be reduced by about $10 per plate. The deviled eggs had too much mustard in the filling. Atmosphere was great and the staff was amazing.

    Slow service despite the restaurant not being crowded. Food was mediocre and poorly seasoned. Pricing way too high for quality and portions. $14 for 3 tiny pieces of steak. Huge bar menu but both drinks were terrible and took 10 minutes to get.

    Incredible experience! There were 3 of us for Dinner for my son's birthday. Started at the Bar and Shawn mixed magical brown butter old fashions. The deviled eggs and crab toast appetizers were awesome - they even made a slight change in the crab toast because I have a Salmon allergy. The kids had Caesar salads and I had the biggest wedge salad I have ever seen in my whole life! It was absolutely spectacular. Main dishes we ate: I had the ribeye and fingerling potatoes, amazing! My son had the Filet Oscar with asparagus and said it was fantastic. My daughter had the braised short ribs with celery, carrots and potatoes and loved it. For dessert we had the cherry bread pudding - which was outstanding!

    Service was good, you could tell they were a bit understaffed but our server was definitely doing her best. Food was mediocre and drinks were just so so. For the prices I definitely expected more. With all the great food choices in Louisville I’m not sure I would come back here.
