Take in the best of Fred Hawtree's legacy in awe inspiring scenery complemented by excellent food and service that will make you feel like family. Watch the sun set from the patio nestled at the base of the tallest peak east of the Mississippi, Mount Mitchell. One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. They were obviously very short staffed and kitchen ran out of items ordered. The food was cold when we got it, and the waitress was completely overwhelmed. The bartender was waiting tables as well, and I noticed people who arrived and ordered way after us were served at almost the same time as us in the bartender’s section. The guy in the kitchen came out several times to inform our waitress that food was backing up in the window. There were large groups of people who just walked out without their orders being taken. I ordered a side salad and was told it would arrive after I was already done with my meal. I asked for it to be taken off the bill and was given the option to take it to go. So they packed it up but didn’t put any dressing with it. It was an overall horrible experience.

Usually excellent food, though untrained wait staff. This buffet was terrible though. The food was overcooked and seemed old. This was supposed to be a Low County Shrimp Boil. Everything should have been freshly cooked and served hot. It was not. Wait staff disappeared and didn't clear dishes.

We were a party of 8 after what appeared to be a private event. The staff was attentive, extremely personable and amazing! Food was delicious. Would definitely go again.

We attended a fundraiser. Cocktails, raffle, and dinner. Everything was wonderful Staff was very attentive. Food was delicious. We had an exceptional dessert. All in all a very successful evening.

The place was hopping!! It was great to see familiar faces as well as new ones. This restaurant offers a varied menu now that the season is in full swing. It never disappoints!

We have been to Hawtree's Pub and Grill on several occassions in 2024. Each time we have been delighted with our meal and have planned to return. Having a special plated brunch for Easter and then again, with a slightly different menu, on Mother's Day was very much something we looked forward to. The restaurant is clean and cheerful. The chef and waitstaff are excellent. The view cannot be beat. We highly recommend this enjoyable restaurant.

Hawtree's is up and coming! The chef is superb and the head waitress is amazing. I like the fact that Chef Melissa and Server Rita have kept the kitchen open throughout the winter and have extended the hours so people can have lunch as well as dinner on Wednesdays through Sundays. The new (as of a year ago) owners of the golf course and the restaurant have really made the restaurant an inviting gathering spot. Thanks to Melissa, the food is always beautifully presented and delicious! And thanks to Rita, the food is served with flair and a smile! On Easter there was a special plated brunch that was delightful. There was nothing better than having Easter brunch while looking out at towering Mt. Mitchell and the picturesque front nine. This is a restaurant that is worth coming back to again and again.

It was the off season so there was a limit menu which we weren't aware of, we were the only table in the restaurant. we were from out of town and had never been there before so we made reservations, not knowing it would be so slow, but the serve/bartender had a table set aside with a black linen tablecloth and decorative napkins. there were only a few people eating and drinking at the bar, but she did a great job and was very attentive. The next time we stay in the area we will definitely stop here again.
