Welcome to Hawksmoor Chicago, where we bring our acclaimed steakhouse experience from the UK to the iconic LaSalle Powerhouse in River North. Our ethos is simple: ‘Buy the best and let it shine.’ We serve all-natural, pasture-reared, dry-aged beef from US family-run farms, cooked over charcoal and seasoned simply with sea salt. Our seafood, sourced from trusted Northeastern fishermen, is prepared with equal care.

In our 16,500 sq ft space, featuring barrel-vaulted ceilings and touches from the Golden Age of Travel, Hawksmoor is perfect for any occasion. Whether you’re stopping by for cocktails, a casual lunch or a special celebration, we make sure you leave full and happy. We also offer private dining for groups of 10 to full venue buy-outs for 500—ideal for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and corporate events.

And don’t miss our Sunday Roast: dry-aged beef, beef-dripping potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and bone marrow gravy—something like a Thanksgiving dinner every Sunday.

It's Hawksmoor's first Chicago Restaurant Week and we're bringing you a line-up of some of our classic and best-loved dishes, starting from $45 for 2 courses. Available from 5pm every day from the 24th January to the 9th February.
Sunday roast

Sundays at Hawksmoor are all about our Sunday Roast: all-natural, dry-aged, slow-roasted Rump served with crispy beef dripping potatoes, Caraflax cabbage and carrots, gigantic Yorkshire puddings, lashings of bone marrow & onion gravy and the option for a side of cauliflower cheese or slow-roasted bone marrow and onions. Sunday Roast dates back to the 15th century where large joints of meat were roasted on a spit over an open fire; to achieve a similar flavor, we start ours on our charcoal grill and finish them in the oven. Many who've had a Sunday Roast equate it to a Thanksgiving dinner – a comforting, filling meal that is best in the company of loved ones. And, should a Bloody Mary, or two, be consumed alongside it, who are we to judge?

Have you heard of our Monday Wine Club? It’s a simple concept: bring any wine you like – doesn’t matter if it’s a first-growth Bordeaux or a bottle of Barefoot – and we’ll only charge you $10 corkage (for up to two bottles). Not sure what to buy? Take a stroll over to our neighbors at the Aqua Wine & Spirits store (they’re literally on the other side of the street) and they’ll help you choose something to make your meal pop. You can even call us ahead of time and ask one of our somms what they suggest.

Cocktail Hour is kind of a big deal here at Hawksmoor. From 5 till 7pm, Monday to Friday, you can grab a selection of our world-class cocktails for a cool $12 – and we’re doing our freshly shucked Island Creek oysters for just $2 a pop. Try Chicago’s coldest martini – we serve ours at a bracing 10°f – with spicy Scotch Bonnet Oysters or our Wicklow Old Fashioned with charcoal-roasted bone marrow oysters. The best bit? No reservations required – just swing by when it suits you. Of course, if you’d like to stay for dinner, you can book a table any time.

Asked for a booth (not honored, was given to a couple who came about 10m later). Extremely limited GF options. Tbc we should have checked. Restaurant team did what they could. No stuffing available (likely need to book Sunday lunch earlier than 3pm to guarantee everything). Food was very good, but expensive for what it is.

Hi Jonathan, I am sorry we were not able to honor the desired table, we always try our best to accommodate everyone's requests. I will make sure your feedback reaches the Maitre D. I am also sorry that you felt there was not much gluten free options - the only part of our roast which contains gluten is the Yorkshire Pudding and the gravy, which, we can offer an alternative for. The rest of our menu is pretty gluten free friendly as we charcoal roast our steaks - just avoid things like the macaroni cheese. I apologise if this was not explained throughly on your visit, our team are normally exceptional at accommodating guest dietaries. This was our second visit and our experience was just as good. Ben was our server and was excellent. We will definitely be back for a 3rd visit soon! Thank you for giving this Brit a taste of home with an amazing Sunday lunch and the best sticky toffee pudding EVER!!!

Loved the Sunday roast! Homey and delicious especially the gravy and carrots. Loved the chocolate tart and harbison cheese and the chocolate salted carmels. Service was great. Great meal on a frigid day! Like something your favorite cook made!

We stopped in for the cocktail hour, but I’ll definitely be back. We enjoyed the oysters and let’s just say 2 was not enough. I had a great Old Fashioned and the burger…can we say yum! Now the true star of the show were the beef fat fries. I’m not even a fry person, but I finished the entire order and wanted more!

We each had the Sunday Roast, and it was outstanding. The beef itself was tender and very flavorful. Delicious. The trimmings were also really delicious, savory, and plentiful. We also highly recommend the cauliflower cheese. Server was friendly, helpful, and attentive without being overbearing. Overall a great experience!

Had heard about the Sunday lunch so we looking forward to it. Did not disappoint. Food and service was great - table we were seated at was a little small for our party we should have asked to move but overall a great experience.
