In the heart of the East Devon countryside, surrounded by acres of farmland, you'll find the award-winning Greendale Farm Shop and it's family-friendly café & restaurant. The Greendale Farm Shop Café and Restaurant is much loved by visitors and locals alike. We offer a new extensive menu, created around many of the items sold in our shop and showcasing local produce from our farm and fishing boats. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are no problem and we have a children's menu for the little ones, too. We offer breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as tea and coffee, delicious cakes and Devon cream teas.

Once you've eaten why not take a stroll along our family farm trail. The trails follow a level path that’s just right for pushchairs and little legs where you can say hello to all of the animals, including Oscar the Ostrich.

On Sunday and Monday evenings, from 3.30pm, our restaurant serves from our extensive fish and chip menu only.

We often eat here and generally enjoy it. We visit on different days at different times of year so we are used to how things change depending on time/day/season. However yesterday the service we got was not great. When we arrived the table was not suitable, the top was swiveling and catching fingers. We asked to move, which was accommodated quickly, thank you. However, we were then seated for nearly an hour before our food arrived. Even the people who had been seated at the table we had moved from had ordered their food, eaten and left before ours arrived! When I said that we'd been waiting for nearly 40 minutes a very laconic and dismissive young man said 'yeah, that's about right ' without offering an explanation. I know that mid afternoon on a Saturday can be busy but we've seen it much busier than this without the time delay. Plus, the chips, which are usually good, were awful! We'll be back because I hope this was a one off, but we'd brought a guest who isn't local and frankly it was embarrassing

Good food at a good price and friendly service. Would have been 5 star but definitely need more staff greeting guests, or a seperate queue for those who have already booked, to avoid waiting in the same line. Also could use more staff accepting payment after people have eaten as often a long line for this.

The food was delicious as always, but the service was below standard today. Slow to bring the drinks after asking once 20 mins had passed from ordering. Then one of the mains was not cooked as requested and had to go back to the kitchen. The place was not particularly busy so I’m not sure what the issues were. We eat here a lot and this was our first choice for today’s evening meal, just a little disappointed it wasn’t as good as it usually is.

We had an afternoon tea, which was amazing, couldn’t fault anything. Would highly recommend.

Terrible service. Food wasn’t great either unfortunately. The servers made you feel like you were not welcome. The woman who brought us our drinks put it all on the table and told us to sort it ourselves. And she forgot a drink.

As always great service and wonderful food at a very reasonable price. Given that it is 23rd December and the place was packed the staff were friendly, attentive and the service was excellent. We didn’t feel rushed and nothing was too much trouble.
