Located at 9 Kensington Square, London, a short stroll from Hyde Park, Grato is a chic Italian restaurant. With a focus on regional cuisine and the freshest ingredients, every dish is imbued with culture. Our handmade pasta is crafted with love in our very own kitchen; our wines are sourced from artisan vineyards. Our evolving menus reflect the seasons and celebrate Italy’s culinary wonders.
Dine on the ground floor overlooking one of London's oldest garden squares or you can dine alfresco facing the lush square. At the lower level is another dining room reminiscent of an Italian wine grotto - the perfect space for a celebration.

We accept all credit cards (no AMEX) & cash.Our outdoor tables are timed for 1.5hr to allow other guests to enjoy al fresco. We cannot always guarantee a seat of your choice. Thank you

    Our second visit to this stunning gem. Nothing is fussy yet nothing is too much trouble. The team manage a compact restaurant so incredibly and the food is just outstanding and good value. I would go out of my way to eat here time and time again

    I love Grato - they are a small restaurant with great ambiance and an absolutely lovely team. I marked it was a date on my reservation, and they sat us at a table right by the wine cellar/storage in the back of the bottom floor - super romantic and I appreciate that they put in the effort of the small details. There was a very large dinner party next to us so the noise levels do get quite high but I have been here other times where it is quite quiet - it just depends on who else is there. The truffle pasta was delicious!! My date and I were talking about how sometimes truffle can be too overwhelming, but they really struck a beautiful balance with all of their dishes. This is a great value, great ambiance, great service place that is perfect for any occasion: a date, to bring your parents, a night out with friends, a special occasion - I really can see this fitting any scenario. Love this place and of course will be back again <3

    We just love Grato. It’s a genuinely authentic Italian restaurant in the middle of Kensington. No airs and graces; no nonsense; just delicious food and friendly service in a small, welcoming restaurant. Most of us have eaten in too many Italian restaurants where the quality of the food is disappointing and the price too high. At Grato, you get a warm welcome; you eat delicious food and you leave happy. particularly if you have chosen the tiramisu for desert! Try it - you won’t be disappointed.

    The chicken was inedible - I told them how bad it was and they didnt do anything about it! The broccoli was dry without any olive oil, salt or anything. Overall very dissapointing

    Hello Lily Raissi I respond to your review as I do not blame you for not enjoying the "Chicken", well what you had was not Chicken it was a VEAL MILANESE that you ordered (we don't serve chicken on our menu!!). I have checked with the staff and they said you did not tell them about it, while you had half of it in the plate when clearing the table, it is grato's practice to ask if you wish to take it home. I appreciate your reconsidering your review and rating since this is a case of "mistaken identity" of the dish. Thank you Sue Semlani Co-owner
