We didn't end up with the table we reserved because the place was so packed, but the staff was excellent, the food was phenomenal, and the company of great friends made the whole experience fantastic.

Very friendly staff, with a level two somm. We had a great chat about wine with him. We had the veal scallopini which was cooked perfectly and was delicious.

This was our first visit to Governor’s House. The food was very good. The cocktails and desserts were excellent. Definitely order the bread! It’s freshly baked and comes with herb butter. There was some small issues in-the kitchen and it was a very busy Saturday evening. The customer service by our waitress Abby and the manager, Jim was above and beyond! We’ll definitely be back.

This is a restaurant I really wanted to like; independent, urban location and I could get a reservation a few days in advance. And it certainly fulfilled the ambience and service wants. The food was well prepared with fresh ingredients, but it just lacked the depth of flavors I like. The caesar salad was a good example. Fresh romaine and the added chicken excellent, but not much garlic, no hint of worchestershire and certainly no anchovy. The pumpkin and the waygu ravioli had a great flavor, but each had only its one dominant taste, no hints of anything else. Not a huge wine list for a wine bar, but good selections throughout the price range.

Michael your review was definitely a hard pill to swallow but only through honest criticism can we provide a better food based experience, rise up to the next level and be that restaurant I invision us to be. I will most assuredly discuss this matter with my Chef and see what or how we might reach that next level. The wine list could be larger and yes I tried to cover a wide variety of price ranges, varitals and styles of wine. I hope on our next menu roll out, which will be sometime this summer, to expand the wine list and hope you will return and give some honest feedback when that happens. We are striving to do better, so please return again, so we might change your opinion and provide a great experience upon your return!

The food was good and a good value We had a party of 6 and 2 ladies ordered salads for their meal The salads showed up 15 minutes before the other meals for the other 4 people. Seemed like the other 4 meals took much longer than normal.

My apologies for the early salad delivery. It sounds like there was confusion in the kitchen where they thought the salads were to come out before the entrees, but were in fact their entrees. I am in process of adding a button to our computer system to distinguish salads being served as entrees and salads as a precurser to the dinner entree so that your issue does not happen again.
