Appetizers and service were very good, however, all of the main courses were overcooked and tasteless. We had shrimp and grits, crabcakes, the special fish for main courses, all disappointing.

Service was fine. We ordered a special pork schnitzel and at 4 pm sold out. We then ordered tje 1/3 chicken and thankfully were informed it was only chicken legs because the kitchen received a wrong delivery. So we ordered the salmon and the chicken tikka masala. It was fine. We opted for dessert special. Coconut cake with whipped cream and strawberries. We got one strawberry cut in quarters. The cake was so refrigerated and didn’t taste fresh. Oh and the gem lettuce salad was really Romaine. Not impressed. However the server did his best to accommodate us with a generous pour of wine. Comping dessert and coffee. I will be back to give them another chance. as I believe it was just a bad day.

This successor to Carole Peck's Good News Restaurant and Bar seems to be trying hard to meet the very high expectations for such a successor. Although the menu is no longer the same without Carole Peck, we had delicious food and left with the intent to return, as this had been our first choice for so many years. We shared the pate appetizer, which was nicely presented and delicious. Our main dishes were the Shrimp and Grits (on special) and the Wok-seared Shrimp (on the daily menu). Both were delicious, with wild shrimp, and the servings were generous. So happy to find high-quality ingredients, well-prepared, once again.

Food was excellent and drinks delicious. Atmosphere was very nice, chairs super comfortable. Wait staff was very pleasant and knowledgeable about what they offered. Open on Mondays which is rare in Woodbury.

This is the second time I’ve been here with my wife. My scallops were excellent, and the mushroom risotto was cooked to perfection. Loved the sauce. My wife had meatloaf with mashed potatoes and asparagus. She indicated it was extremely good and she was glad that she ordered it. Our waitress was outstanding great service very considerate And always following up on request.

We have been going to the Good News Cafe for over 25 years, but this was our first visit under new ownership. The food was not satisfactory. My shrimp and grits had very little flavor and the shrimp were very rubbery. The wait staff could use a bit more training and guidance. Will not return.

The pork belly app is HUGE & amazing!! Was nice to see a few of the offerings on the old Good News menu are still there, but I do wish they'd kept the Pork Schnitzel! The reno looks great & staff was very friendly.

Food was fine. Took 45 minutes to get our salads and the place wasn’t busy. I had the scallops which were good, but they were served on top of this sweet muck that wasn’t good. Overall, a mediocre experience.

The restaurant had been closed after the former owner retired. Wonderful to see the new owner has updated the restaurant. Very good beverage selections and the menu is quite extensive. Our party of four enjoyed our meals. Service was excellent. We will return.
