The food was great and our service was wonderful. We were seated at a high booth in the bar area for some reason, and there was a lot of commotion coming and going by our booth. We had a reservation, and perhaps the tables in the main dining area were all filled, but it would have been quieter not to be in the bar area. All in all, quite nice, save for the high booth for dinner (better for drinks, not dinner).

Good service and good food - good news! Missed some of the old-world bohemian dishes that were on the old menu (schnitzel and red cabbage in particular), but enjoyed the experience… especially since we live only 5 mins away.

Love the redesigned dining area. Our food was excellent! I had the Wok Shrimp from the old menu. It was just as good or maybe even better than before. Hubby loved his Chicken Tikka Masala. Our server, Tyler was excellent. So accommodating! His descriptions were right on and the service was prompt and delightful. We look forward to returning to Good News soon.

This was our first return since the new ownership and remodel. We were pleasantly surprised that the new ownership did not miss a beat with the delicious dishes and awesome service. We will be back.

The new look and feel is fantastic! The menu is terrific and you kept come of our favorites that Carol made must haves!!!! Congratulations!!! Just beautiful!!!

Appetizers and service were very good, however, all of the main courses were overcooked and tasteless. We had shrimp and grits, crabcakes, the special fish for main courses, all disappointing.

Service was fine. We ordered a special pork schnitzel and at 4 pm sold out. We then ordered tje 1/3 chicken and thankfully were informed it was only chicken legs because the kitchen received a wrong delivery. So we ordered the salmon and the chicken tikka masala. It was fine. We opted for dessert special. Coconut cake with whipped cream and strawberries. We got one strawberry cut in quarters. The cake was so refrigerated and didn’t taste fresh. Oh and the gem lettuce salad was really Romaine. Not impressed. However the server did his best to accommodate us with a generous pour of wine. Comping dessert and coffee. I will be back to give them another chance. as I believe it was just a bad day.

This successor to Carole Peck's Good News Restaurant and Bar seems to be trying hard to meet the very high expectations for such a successor. Although the menu is no longer the same without Carole Peck, we had delicious food and left with the intent to return, as this had been our first choice for so many years. We shared the pate appetizer, which was nicely presented and delicious. Our main dishes were the Shrimp and Grits (on special) and the Wok-seared Shrimp (on the daily menu). Both were delicious, with wild shrimp, and the servings were generous. So happy to find high-quality ingredients, well-prepared, once again.
