Gloria Gati is the new restaurant of chef George Papakostas who jokingly refers to Gloria as the older sister of Vittoria Gati, another famous restaurant of his in Glyfada. Gloria is located in a historic building in the Athens center just 50 meters from Syntagma square. It is defined by an eclectic vintage design in a very cosy space where the pizza oven takes center stage. The bar serves award winning cocktails and over 100 wines from Greece and around the globe. The menu is Italian with a focus on homemade pasta and quality meats. The pizza is made from a 1937 sourdough and baked in a traditional oven imported from Naples. Some of the signature dishes include the steak tartare, arancini bolognese, the raviolo cacio pepe, the reginette al tartufo for truffle lovers as well as pollo francese and the ossobuco which is cooked for 12 hours. A tiramisu is a must here accompanied by a single estate espresso. Outside seating is available all year round in the courtyard of St George church

Excellent restaurant, with amazing italian food and a nice wine and cocktail list. The live music gives an extra magic at the nights!

The food was really tasty, especially the pasta. You should try the Alfredo dish. The ambience is nice although we sat on the outdoor area. I would come back for sure!

Staff was very polite and helpful. The service was excellent and also was the welcoming! The lady in the welcoming service was also very willing to help with the table and found a solution and was very gracious . Also the lady from the winery ( Eirini I think ) was very sweet, helpful and kind. I am more than grateful for this staff! Keep going like this!!!

One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had in my life. First, I had a reservation for one - which they gladly accepted when I made it - but they clearly had no idea how to accommodate when I arrived. Hostess who greeted me (confirming my reservation) seemed confused, and asked "there are two of you coming, or....????" And then took about 20 minutes before finally seating me at a table that had been empty the entire time - after seating 3 other parties ahead of me. The spot they seated me was on the patio. Which, to be fair, had been the reservation. But unlike all of the other diners, they did not have heating lamps--which, given it was unseasonably cold was, to put it mildly, uncomfortable. It was a prix fixe meal, which included a "welcome drink." They brought me the welcome drink after I had been seated for about 10 minutes (so, at this point, 25 minutes or so after my reservation) - and then no one ever asked me if I wanted to order anything else. About 45 minutes after my reservation, they finally brought the BREAD course. Literally zero cooking required. By that point I had finished my "welcome drink." The empty glass sat next to me on the table until I left. After 1 hour and 45 minutes (I was timing), they brought the appetizer course. I won't describe the food because it was not good. I'm not sure why a restaurant in Greece that labels itself as Italian attempted French food....but for some reason they did. And they did not execute well. Everything tasted bad. Oh, and was very cold by the time it was served. So after over 2 hours of sitting (with nothing to drink, and only having received appetizer course), I finally gave up and left. Freezing cold because they had never turned on a heating lamp. If I could give zero stars I would. This was an absolutely miserable experience, and they all should feel ashamed.

Went for new years. Crowded and service was terrible. It was a fixed menu and we were never served dessert. Could not order drinks. Looked around and everyone in restaurant was experiencing the same. Food that was served was cold

We had a great New years evening here. Staff were friendly and amenable. Manager was very helpful with a query we had and ensured that we were happy. Music later on was great and got the atmosphere going for New Year Eve.
