Set in a tropical garden, located in the heart of lower Johnston Street. The wine bar Abbotsford has been waiting for celebrates Australian produce and minimum intervention wines

We are proudly an accessible space with ramped access throughout, DDA toilets and compassionate staff.

What a great find in Abbotsford. A wonderful friendly team who provide exceptional service. Amazing what one chef produces from his kitchen, great value and a beautiful setting in the courtyard with floral arrangements I want to take home :) This will become our new local fave.

We had an outstanding experience at Gilbee's. It went well beyond what we were expecting from a local eatery, with both the food and service at a standard you'd expect at a high-end restaurant. Every waiter we encountered was personable, knowledgable and, most importantly, warm and friendly without being overbearing or saccharine. The food was something else - clever cookery using the freshest of ingredients. We had the "local's night" set menu which included a variety of seafood presented beautifully. Layers of flavour in every dish, mussels and fish cooked to absolute perfection, crisp croquettes, and fluffy focaccia with airy whipped butter. We indulged in a single piece of the burnt basque cheesecake for dessert as an optional add-on and I wished we'd bought two! It was light and creamy, but rich in flavour. I'd recommend it without hesitation - we're already planning our next visit and deciding which lucky people we will bring with us next time!

Another wonderful meal and experience delivered by the Gilbees team. Excellent pasta, dessert and ambience. We just love the outside courtyard area it’s so relaxing.

We went to Gilbees on 1/2/25, the 3rd time we've been there. The service & food has been exceptional every time. And yes, we'll be going back.

My new favourite local place to hang out. Lovely to sit outside on a balmy summer evening. Food and wine are delicious and I love emphasis on seafood and vegetables. Floor people are friendly and relaxed, but attentive, adding to the great local vibe.

The back courtyard was delightful even on a chilly evening. Plenty of heaters and the guest blankets were a lovely thoughtful touch. Food was very yummy!

I was so happy to have come across Gilbees for an impromptu meal on Saturday night. The staff were very welcoming and the courtyard was perfect but above all else, the food offering was exceptional. So fresh and tasty. A lovely wine list topped the experience off.
