Nestled in the heart of Covent Garden, our newest Gaucho location marks a return to London after a decade of regional expansion. Set within an extension of the iconic Royal Opera House, Gaucho adds a vibrant new chapter to one of the city’s most culturally rich districts.

Inspired by the artistic energy of Covent Garden and the passion of Buenos Aires' tango clubs, the design of the restaurant features striking elements that reflect both the local heritage and our Argentine roots.

On the ground floor, the atmosphere is bright and inviting—ideal for everything from Tango performances and relaxed business lunches to afternoon drinks. Downstairs, the basement offers a more intimate, theatrical experience, with rich, pleated curtain walls inspired by the dramatic red-draped stages of the West End.

The appetizer and main course was lovely and highly recommend their steak - dessert, its okay. This is not our first in Gaucho CG, service is always lovely - although slow from the kitchen but they are busy so its understandable. Overall it was a great place to dine specially if you have special occasion x

Had an excellent lunch here today. Very welcoming and helpful receptionist. Service by Sebastian was excellent. He was very friendly, attentive and helpful too. And always checking on us that everything was ok, as two other staff members did too, very nice, to make sure all is ok. The Winter Set Lunch Menu was absolutely delicious. There was a great choice of drinks available too. My partner had the lovely Malbec and I had the lovely ginger beer. For starters, my partner had the Prawn Chicharron and said it was very tasty. My medium rump beef for the main course was very succulent and tasty. Lovely chips to go with it, although my bowl of chips was slightly on the salty side for me, whereas my partner's bowl was not, so I wondered if the chef put double salt on my bowl in error. Despite that, we had the lovely chimichurri sauce to go with the meal and Sebastian even gave us a small jug of mushroom sauce to try as he said it was our first time visiting there, which was a lovely surprise and so nice and thoughtful! I had the Dulce De Leche Pancake for dessert. Oh my, this was so good, with lots of nuts and tasty banana split ice cream. Will definitely return, as the restaurant had a very nice ambiance too, and music was nice and quiet. Sebastian even joked with us and said we could come back tonight or tomorrow even. Such a lovely waiter.

You can never go wrong with Gaucho. This is the first time I've dined at the Covent Garden branch. As usual, steak was exceptional as was all the other food. The staff were exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. Can't recommend highly enough.

Overall our stay at the Gaucho was positive. Our waiter was very attentive and kind. The quality of our food was good, especially the dessert and the kitchen works super fast. As for the ambiance, it was quite dark and we had a table close to the kitchen entrance which made the whole thing a bit hectic. The prices are a bit high for what is offered in my opinion but all in all, we had a good night out.

Went there for a pre theatre meal - service was excellent and steaks were good - desserts altogether disappointing- oat ice cream and apple crumble with no crumble ... otherwise lovely

Absolutely awful service and food. The food was far below what we would usually expect from the evening menu - we did the long lunch and the scallops turned out to be a single scallop and seriously overcooked that it was rubber. We had to repeatedly ask for items on the set menu which didn't turn up. We also waited 45 minutes for our 'welcome' drinks to arrive and the waiter kept telling us that it was on the way as if it wasn't his fault. Three times we had to ask from wine/a cocktail from the disinterested waiter. Pathetic service. They gave us 50% off the bill in the end but wasn't even worth that given we walked out without the final drink or dessert. Do yourself a favor and go to Hawksmoor. Their service is bounds better than this.
