   The meatloaf and salmon entrees were very good All three chicken entrees had good flavor but the chicken was too dry

   We went to Waterloo specifically to dine at Gallagher’s. Lovely ambience and great service. We were seated upstairs where large tables near us were loud, and the two of us were at a 4-top table that was so tight in a corner that we had to sit across from each other, which made it even harder to hear. Food was plentiful and delicious, but the Popeye hamburger was so drippy with meat and spinach juice that the bun was soggy and absolutely flat, top and bottom. However, I took most of it home and it was was delicious the next day, when the bun had time to dry out. Loved Gallagher’s anyway, and we will be back!

   To be fair, we are used to a very high quality of food, service and atmosphere. This is the first time we have ever had reason to complain. I have reached out to Gallagher's via email to their info email address but haven't heard back. This was for the Valentines promotion and I suspect this was the issue. First of all service and atmosphere were great as usual and greatly appreciated. Our complaint is that all of the food was tepid at best and my potato was a bit hard. The flavors were all there and I suspect would have been fantastic if the food was hot. Spending any amount of money you would expect hot food, but especially given spending 150 plus tax for the two of us. I suspect that food would have been the typical high standard and food that we always recommend friends and family come to check out. I am disappointed that the email hasn't been addressed yet. We would have complained there but the staff was super busy and didn't want to make a scene. I would not have posted here had we received an email reply.

    Ambiance was great, food was a mixed bag and not very creative. First course/appetizer with the scallop was very good. Main course baked potato was underdone (crunchy) and pretty basic. Beef filet was good. Red velvet cake was pretty basic, as was the overall meal. Service was very good. Not a great value overall, so we will probably stick with Niche.
