Welcome to Floris at VMFA!

~ We've expanded our menu to offer a la carte offerings each day from 2:30 - 4:00pm, no reservations needed~

Our high tea menu and tea service is offered daily from 11:30 am - 2:30pm priced at $55 per guest, not inclusive of tax and service. We kindly require each guest's participation.


Floris invites you to immerse yourself in a culturally enriching tearoom experience at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Nestled in the beautiful surroundings of the Robins Sculpture Garden, Floris is a community gathering space located in VMFA’s Pauley Center.


Take a mid-day escape and indulge in delightful pleasures for the palate, including expertly crafted blends from guest tea makers. Chef Chainey Kuykendall’s use of fresh ingredients from local vendors and importers further enhances Floris’s celebration of cultures and community.


Reservations for our high tea are encouraged, as seating is limited. Questions can be directed to 804-340-5785 or floris@vmfa.museum

    Floris at the VMFA is a lovely overall experience. The savory and sweet items they provide with your choice of tea are beautiful to look at and tasty to eat. The service is attentive and responsive but somewhat leisurely. A great experience for the holidays or other special occasion.

    We had a bottle of sparkling Cremaint. It was incredible. Our server, Alex, was right there and recommended teas for us. It was an event for the Yoga Wine Club from Williamsburg. We will go again. Thank the VMFA for this tea room. It also was a history note being in the building for Confederate Women. Very interesting.

    The setting was lovely. The food was excellent. The tea selections were excellent and quite delicious. Our server, Spencer was on top over it all and nicely attentive and informative. A great experience was had.

    Service was inattentive and very slow. Our high tea took almost 2 hours. Had to flag down different staff members just to get water refills. The menu was supposed to be served in two courses but we barely started the first and the second course was put on the table. And then we didn’t see our server again for most of our meal. We finally got a chance to order more tea and had to wait another 20 minutes for that to be served. Too expensive for a rather mediocre experience.

    Loved it! Best tea room in Richmond. I would say it is best for sophisticated foodies. The menu even the children’s one is not kid friendly. But if you like to eat all the things this place is for you and you can try so many teas!

    This is a great experience if you like the idea of high tea. The menu is pre fix so it is a little pricey but, considering the price of high tea at other locations it is not out of line. Sandwiches and then a sweets tray. All the tea you want to drink. Very leisurely, no pressure to get in and out at all. There is a Christmas Shoppe set up in the same building that is delightful so it is a package Holiday experience for the family or friends...

    Truly Fabulous. Well appointed, Menu, Tea and Beverages well curated. Service professional and attentive and incredibly accommodating. Everything was delicious. An upscale, sophisticated twist on a traditional tea. Loved it and will definitely be back.

    We had an enjoyable time! The seasonal food selection was tasty as were the teas. I particularly enjoyed the Southern Comfort herbal tea.

    Delicious Hungarian inspired menu for Fall 2024! Service was excellent as always and the staff was very knowledgeable. I recommend the Apollo Blend tea! We especially enjoyed the sacher torte and chicken paprikash sandwich. The Bavarian pastry was the most interestingly flavored, savory cream puff I’ve ever had.
