Under the culinary direction of Chef Somoza, Flora’s menu captures the spirit of Mediterranean seaside towns from Saint Tropez to Capri to Marbella, spotlighting the bountiful seafood and vibrant produce that are hallmarks of coastal cuisine. With a passion for fresh ingredients rooted in his childhood in the Spanish countryside, picking wild blackberries and foraging mushrooms and wild asparagus, Chef Somoza is drawn to local, farm-to-table cooking.

The Flora menu is made up of regional ingredients such as sweet corn, seasonal vegetables and fruits, local seafood and small farm sourced meats, and is anchored by a crudo bar and fish main courses including Dover Sole, Bank Scallops, pan seared halibut. A skilled pastry chef and boulanger, Somoza is also putting an emphasis on quality breads and an impressive offering of house-made pastries and ice cream, and the most delicious creme brulee.

Lovely dinner in a beautiful space with a fantastic waitress, BUT linguini special with shaved truffles and caviar arrived with no caviar . Delicious but disappointing $52 special entree.

Food was excellent, as always (our 4th visit)- Service outstanding! Pre-meal cocktails in the first floor lounge always a treat!! Our go-to place in Newport

I NEVER do reviews but in this case- We were disappointed in the overall food experience. This was my 2nd visit as my first was great. I decided to treat my wife and daughter to dinner with some close friends. The meals were just not to the level of my first experience and I will not get into details but 3 out of the 5 entree's ordered were not acceptable (cold, taste and flavor). At these price points they need to get it right at a high level. I am not the type of person that complains and I will normally do everything to avoid sharing my grievances. I will say that the restaurant removed 2 dishes and offered us 2 desserts. I do appreciate their gesture but it should not have to happen. I hope they fix the issues in the kitchen because it is a special place. If I visit again it would be for drinks and views only.

Overall good experience. The food was excellent but service was inconsistent. It seemed like there were not enough waiters.

Food was spectacular and service was outstanding. The ambience was welcoming and very elegant. Highly recommend this restaurant. Overall experience was excellent.

Great experience from start to finish. Friendly and attentive staff with great menu insight. We were four and shared the ceviche, fall salad, buratta and butternut squash salad, and Spanish-style garlic shrimp as our first course. Incidentally, their house-made sourdough is excellent. Three of us had the filet special with creamy mashed potatoes and broccolini; the fourth had the chicken paillard, which was excellent. The house-made ice creams were very good, white pistachio and a RI-only Autocrat coffee milk. The crème brûlée, however, was very sweet. Definitely go.

Perfection!! Our waitress, Hannah, was amazing. Surf and turf was to die for. Holiday decorations were incredible. Thank you for a magical New Year’s Eve!!
