Von der OpenTable-Redaktion: What began as a desire to recreate a beloved childhood street food has led to a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand nod for Florence-born Giovanni Mascagni. By day, his Chinatown restaurant serves focaccia-like schiacciata bread stuffed with fillings like prosciutto di Parma and bresaola beef. Come in the evening for a cozy aperitivo with Florentine-style sharing plates and cocktails.

I booked a table for 10 but 1 person could not make it. We booked for 415pm so we can enjoy happy hour and then dinner afterwards. The food we ordered were an assortment of items from the menu. The food was all well prepared and was tasty. I found the portion sizes small so we had to double up on certain items. It's supposed to be Italian family style but each dish is sized for an individual. The dinner was to celebrate a birthday. Now for the not so good parts of the overall experience. We brought a cake to dinner (birthday) and gave it to our server when we arrived. When it was time to get the cake, we were told thay there will be a cake cutting fee of $3.50 per person. I said that we would do it. We are perfectly able to do so. She agreed but came back and advised that wee would still need to pay for the cake cutting if we were to cut it ourselves. It's because we will not be ordering desert. That's unfortunate. When we received our bill, we were charged an 18 percent gratuity. I was not told at the beginning as well. Whenever I dine at any establishment, I am told about the auto gratuity up front. I am always very happy to have the autogratuity when I was advised before hand. Being told aboit it after a meal makes the experience very sour and leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Had a super meal and the service was outstanding, after a small glitch with the reservation. Really the only downside for us was the noise level in the restaurant which was made worse by them turning on music above the loud talking. I’d go back again with my friends!

Fiorino never disappoints, it was a great night, great food and lovely company. We had the set menu and loved the selection.

Wonderful lunch. It was quite noisy because of some Holiday gatherings and the staff were apologetic about that - but, hey, it’s great to see a place doing good business in the holiday season.

Amazing food, went for happy hour and continued on to dinner. The ambiance is great and homey and the company made it even better. Every bite was delicious, drinks were good, and the service was friendly.
