Etsu is a Japanese izakaya which focuses on local amazing produce in our dishes which are designed to be shared amongst friends. We have one of the largest Japanese whisky collections on our back bar which we recommend served over hand cut ice or try one of our sakes or Japanese tap beers. Our sashimi is the freshest around and our fave place to sit is at the dining bar. Kanpaii!!

    restaurant far below expectations! I spent $400 and had to sit next to the hot oven, hot and noisy environment, very poor food, my wife and I left there hungry and to make matters worse only a tiny dessert for the two of us to share! and finally I went to a Japanese restaurant and didn't eat salmon sashimi, 70% of the menu was meat.

    Great food served by friendly helpful staff. The place had a good vibe - not surprising as every seat was full when we got there. Music loud enough to enjoy but still able to talk. Not the cheapest but some of the best Japanese we have eaten in quite some time.

    Great service. Bar seating sounds nice until you find yourself seated and served food on the other side of the bar where they clean up the cocktail shakers and general utensils. Food expensive All dishes were extremely salty. For $220 for 2 people, the expectation is great food and decent seating should be expected. As a long term local, cannot recommend. If you are looking for great Japanese, go to the Kiomi. Perfect everytime, great ambience, great service and price is compatible

    My family and I went there twice in the one holiday, it was that good. Really good value, great vibe, cool cocktails and exceptional food in a venue that’s a little unique in the best ways. Will definitely go back whenever I’m next in Gold Coast.

    One of our favourite restaurants and it never disappoints. Food is exceptional and we love the whole experience when dining at ETSU.

    We celebrated a birthday and all of us very much enjoyed the experience Food was first class and we tried some sake and enjoyed the cocktails and other drinks Hannah was very attentive and pleasant to deal with

    Fantastic experience. Food, service and atmosphere were all brilliant. Our waitress Sam was outstanding and this added the extra polish to our experience.

    Honestly. A trip To The GC is not complete without printable at Etsu. Some fancy new openings but they pale in comparison to the class and the decent food experience here. Never disappoints. So happy when. We leave. Staff ALWAYS attentive. It’s just faultless.
