Emerson's is an intimate restaurant and bar with good vibes located in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh. The venue combines the charm of a European café with a cozy, modern ambiance, complete with a welcoming fireplace. Emerson's features a full dinner menu alongside a curated selection of wines and craft cocktails, making it an ideal spot for both casual gatherings and special occasions. This hidden gem offers a warm and inviting escape in the bustling Market Square area.

We are located on the 2nd floor up a flight of stairs, however we do have elevator access by request! Our front door is to the left of the entrance to Market St. Grocery.

    Everything about Emerson’s fully exceeded my already high expectations. It feels like the type of restaurant that gets you “cool points” just for knowing about it — the interior feels almost like the inside of someone’s swanky Manhattan loft. Service was excellent, well-paced, engaged, easy. The food was also remarkable (must try, surprisingly, was the cornbread biscuit). Overall, highly recommended.

    Had an amazing time with a friend for girls night out. Sampled the fries, penne alla vodka, and meatballs. Tried their featured Valentine’s Day drinks.

    Beautiful ambience. Great food. Amazing drinks!! I had the meatball appetizer and caesar salad with grilled chicken for my main. I will definitely be coming back!

    Great spot for a nice birthday dinner celebration! Bar on ground floor served delicious cocktails! Love that they now have playing cards on table to play while sipping on drinks;) Upstairs, Carmen provided excellent dinner service. Will absolutely be back!

    Great atmosphere and food. Marcus was an excellent waiter. Timing of the courses was very good. Highly recommend!

    When the server arrived, we were asked if we had a show or other plans we needed to get to. We said no and ordered drinks. It was 13 minutes until they arrived and my husband’s beer was brought unopened. Problem was it was an import and needed a bottle opener. Unfortunately I didn’t have one in my purse so it was another 4-5 minutes until the beer was opened. We started with the Burrata and fried olives but they were out of the olives. Server offered the meatballs but read the room, both apps were vegetarian. The pasta was good but tepid in temperature at best and finally served almost an 45 minutes after ordered. Noise level was very high as were the ceilings which may count for the noise level. My suggestion would be to tell the server you have plans so you aren’t put at the end of the queue for service, beverages and food orders. But if you want your meal to last hours, you will not be rushed out. There is dinner seating at the bar that was first come, first served so that is an option if you forget to make reservations.
