Dolce Italia was established in 2010 by Tiziana Di Costanzo who came from Ischia, an island in the Gulf of Naples. Using a combination of classic Italian dishes, family recipes passed down for generations, and warm hospitality, Dolce Italia has built a reputation in Sarasota as a destination for anyone seeking great food and ambiance. In 2015 Matthew joined as manager of the front of house and is now a managing partner of Dolce Italia. The kitchen staff trained by Tiziana from the beginning are still with the restaurant with Maria being the capocuoco.
Some of the specialities Dolce Italia has become famous for are the Napoletan Eggplant- a tender sautee eggplant with fresh tomatoes crowned with ricotte, the Trenne Dolce Italia- the signature pasta dish with creamy tomato sauce, fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and mushroom.

    One of our favorite Italian restaurant in Sarasota. Beyond the amazing food, the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The staff are always friendly, attentive, and make us feel truly welcome. We will definitely be coming back

    This is now our go to Italian restaurant. Food is always great along with the outstanding service. We always look forward to our night out at Dolce Italia!

    Food is authentic and the best I’ve had in Sarasota! The owner and staff are exceptional. You don’t leave hungry! Lemon cello cake is always amazing!

    Amazing and awesome from food, service, quality and attentive staff. When they made a mistake, they were very apologetic and fixed it without hesitation. Over the top with everything! When we visit from out of town, we ALWAYS make a point to stop here to eat.

    We had the Trenne Dolce Italia with meatballs and started with the buffalo mozzarela. The restaurant is quaint, well-appointed, and very much a reminder of small restaurants in Europe. The waitstaff is professional and clearly excited about the food they are serving as they well should be. They are kind, attentive, helpful, and understand that the pace of dining for each customer is different and accommodates them accordingly. The Trenne was excellent. It looked especially appetizing and tasted even more delicious. I also very much like the gnocchi. It is our favorite restaurant in Sarasota which is why we make it a priority to eat there each year while we escape the cold north. Saving on taxes is a good reason to move to Floirda but an even better one is that you could enjoy Cafe Dolce Italia as often as you please.
