Built in the 1800 as a very modest Bajan home, Dis Ole House is now living its best life hosting people to take part in our wonderful island’s culinary flavors. We offer a very stark contrast to the much grander Sam Lord's Castle at whose gates we are neatly nestled. We provoke curiosity and experiences where little touches like our enamel tableware will make any Bajan smile with yesteryear nostalgia. The area itself is nostalgic; Sam Lord himself must have roamed here, right? We’re proud promoters of all “tings” Bajan, celebrating our ancestors, history, and culture. Come drink a rum punch (or two--who are we to judge?) and try our very traditional dishes: cutters, fish cakes, roast breadfruit, or our national dish, Cou Cou & Flying Fish. We boast as a seafood lover's paradise, Lobster, Conch, Sea Cat (octopus), and Sea Egg (seasonal) are all among our fresh local offerings, grilled, pickled, and blacken the Bajan way.

I would call it Elevated Bajan food. It I had the catch and my wife had the Sunday BBQ. Both meals were outstanding. The flavors and quality of the ingredients were the best we had during our stay on the island. I highly recommend making this a stop when here. Can't wait to go back.

Great dishes, everyone in our party was very happy. Crowd favorite was the traditional coo coo with barracuda, which was the catch of the day. Also the blackened barracuda was amazing! The bread pudding was our favorite dessert with the blackened barracuda cake fallowing! Would highly recommend and definitely come again!

At the end of a 2 month stay here in Barbados, we have been to good, fair and excellent restaurants for the food/ambiance/service and value. The ambiance is excellent at Dis Ole House. The appetizers were very good, but the main dish of curry with shrimp, portion size and taste were not on point and we left the restaurant hungry. For $140 USD with tip (and the service was good), the expectation was higher. Lovely and romantic but our particular meal just missed the mark.

If a quiet dinner is what you are looking for, Dis Ole House is not the place to go. The music was so loud we could not have a conversation at our table, and the multiple singing of Happy Birthday made us feel like we were at a low end cruise ship restaurant… we were expecting quiet fine dining and got very loud singing ( a great singer but way too loud!) and the food was not up to standard ( we have eaten here quite a few times and the fish was overcooked, hard and quite tasteless… very disappointed this time around…service was good but the rest was not..

The service was good but the food was slow to arrive after an order mix up. The food had been sitting out as it was dry and not hot. We arrived at 7pm and food arrived at 9pm.

Very quaint and lovely place with terrific service and delicious food. Would definitely revisit again and highly recommend.

We travelled all the way from Speightstown to have lunch. We arrived in plenty of time and were greeted with a smile and informed that the restaurant was not ready. However we were shown to our table and the waitress said that because their supplies had not arrived yet it would be a reduced menu. What we selected was ok but not what I was expecting having driven an hour to get there. If they had explained their problems before seating us I would probably have left there and then. So sad as we were so looking forward to having lunch here.

An unusually disappointing experience on this visit. At 4pm the restaurant was out of spareribs and chicken and shrimp. With limited options, we ordered beet salad, & watermelon salad & both were mainly lettuce. The deep fried pork chop looked delicious but was overdone & dry The fish tacos were cold on arrival. Servers were very kind, polite and fun. Drinks were great. And nachos were good as well. What has changed since last year to make the overall meal so disappointing ?

Fabulous as always. We love it here. Service was exceptional, Kallimar is fantastic and always takes such good care of us. Menu was missing a few items but still lots of selection and all food was great. Rum punch is the best. Can’t wait to be back.
