Located between the sea, the Garden of England and the town’s Creative Quarter, Custom Folkestone’s kitchen serves up extraordinary hyper-locally sourced seafood and vegetarian food alongside a menu of food-focused artistic projects. Chef/director Cherry Truluck draws inspiration from seasonal local produce, historic recipes and contemporary international cooking.

Custom serves a brunch menu from 10am-5pm and an affordable contemporary bistro-style menu throughout the day and evening. Our menu focuses on seafood, with a strong element of vegetarian and plant based fare.

Custom operates from a beautifully converted double shipping container in the East Yard of Folkestone's restored Harbour station. Through an ingredients and labour exchange initiative, collaborating with the local community, Custom is committed to delivering an uplifting and nourishing experience of creating, sharing and enjoying amazing food, which is also accessible.

Great to support this venture, lovely locally sourced food with a twist, served promptly and by friendly interested staff. We went early so not many there but the table next to us was very close and noisy!

I visited with my wife for an evening meal. We both started with Borsch and had Sea Bream in a crab sauce for a main. The food was excellent, really tasty, we thourily enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely visit shain

A lovely, leisurely afternoon was spent celebrating a friend's birthday. The food was fresh and delicious. The oyster starter was the best, the raddicio was unusual and not really to my taste. The fish stew was so tasty, would definitely recommend. The cheese board was a perfect combination of excellent pieces, with a cracker for a plate (cute). I like the fact that the menu varies from week to week.

A second delicious meal at Custom, I really couldn’t recommend this place more. The staff are so lovely, it feels very personal and tastes amazing. We’ll be back. Again!

We had an amazing experience and are big fans of Custom's mission and everything they stand for. The choices on the menu all sound so incredible, it's hard not to order a few, and we did not regret this as everything we ate was absolutely divine. Highly recommend Custom - thank you for everything you do and stand for!

The cuisine was excellent and imaginative as the last time but the wait between courses - at least 30 mins - was too long!

You visited us on our busiest night since we opened and we're aware that we didn't get the food out as quickly as we would normally like to, so apologies for that. Lovely food and very helpful staff- we went for dinner and had a mixed table of vegan and pescatarian. Very interesting and tasty.

Been looking forward to visiting Custom for ages and it was an absolute treat. There's not much better than watching the lettuce for your salad be cut two yards from where you are sitting! The ethos of this place warms my heart and it is both family and dog friendly. I think the degree of child friendliness won't suit some people if I am blunt (me a couple of decades ago tbh) but for others this will make a magnetic attraction! The venue was buzzing with young family families and kids just got to hang out together while mums and dads caught up with friends. Overall this place is very, very special ❤️
