Our rich chicken liver parfait piped into thyme puff pastry slices with caramelised red onion chutney, alongside dressed julienned pears and a port reduction
Crab & Comté Rarebit
Comté cheese & white crab béchamel on toasted brioche, topped with samphire and drizzled with herb oil
Smoked Salmon Rillettes
Creamy salmon rillettes layered on honey & mustard pickled beetroot. Topped with whipped horseradish cream, dill & lemon and served with seeded sourdough

MAINS

Roast Turkey Ballotine
Wrapped in smoked bacon with a chestnut & sage stuffing. Served with crispy confit potatoes, apricot & mustard-glazed Chantenay carrots, watercress, spiced honey pig in blanket and a shallot & thyme jus
Butternut Squash Tarte Tatin
Sage, salted caramel and red onion tarte tatin topped with whipped goatʼs cheese and toasted almonds, with a green salad
Grilled Sea Bream
On a bed of Champagne velouté sauce, braised fennel, tomato concassé, dill and crushed new potatoes
Sirloin (8oz)
Cut and prepared in the Côte butchery Served with crispy confit potatoes, black garlic jus and watercress Recommended medium rare
Salt-Baked Celeriac

Booked only 45 mins before turning up on 2nd jan - given a banquette seat as requested. There was a table with noisy children adjacent that detracted from the ambience somewhat. Poulet Breton not available (:sad) but we were offered the chicken fillet and mushroom sauce from the prix fixe menu - which was v good although the sauce was a little too peppery. We enjoyed the chicken liver parfait x 2, chocolate mousse and crepe aux bananes - all very good. 3 courses for £21.95 a head is only a little more than many of the main courses cost from the menu, so a good deal. Round of drinks, coffees, bread and a side portion of the excellent cauliflower cheese brought the bill (with tip) to £39/head which was reasonable. Service a bit slow and hit and miss at times e.g. chocolate sauce missing from banana dessert - had to be prompted and we had to ask twice before being provided with extra milk. Overall - very good.

Was once again great and really enjoyed it. Staff are very friendly and forthcoming and the food is always very tasty.

I was told by the manager that Christmas Day service was a new thing for Cote. Sadly it showed. Very crowded with long service delays. Good food but poor, confused service. One barman fulfilling table drink orders, making cocktails and coffee too on his own. Server's bringing food out of kitchen and returning to the kitchen not knowing where to take it or not the right order or, as in our case, a third offer of starter, when we told staff we had eaten already. Cote tried to fit in too many seats and sittings for the time period. As I told the manager it would be better to have 100 happy, returning customers rather than 200 disgruntled, with poor reviews etc. A number of complaints around us. Our planned 90 minute meal extended to nearly 180 minutes so we missed a Christmas Day Carol service in Worcester Cathedral.

Lovely food and good service. However meal felt rather pricey after they said that the steak had a £5 surcharge on the festive menu. When we checked this was in a yellow colour print and we had not noticed it before… meant we had to remove the service charge as it had not been made clear enough that the extra charge would be added and it soured our experience slightly. A festive menu at three courses should not have extra charges on it unless made very clear to the customer.

Mediocre. We paid £75 for three starters a main course, Kir and glass of wine. The French onion soup was good although the portion was small. The crab starter tasted like frozen crab and there was too much mayonnaise. The first stew was just OK. The service was perfunctory and not worthy of the automatically added 10% service charge.

It was our 49th Anniversary and it was lovely to receive surprise, complimentary glasses of sparkling wine - a very nice touch. Food and service were excellent, as always.
