   The perfect choice for a dinner meeting in central Adelaide! Visiting on business from interstate, I chose Coal Cellar + Grill at the Adelaide Hilton for location, convenience and also based on previous experience (though I haven't dined here for over 5 years) of superb quality in dining experience through both food and service. I'm so pleased to report that this venue continues to deliver with excellence. Our 2 course pre-theatre menu provided ample variety of choices, the service was friendly, attentive and efficient (thank you Caitlin and the rest of the team). A delightful experience last night and I will definitely be back!

   booking made at 1.45pm only to be told on arrival that the kitchen closes at 2pm and orders had to be made immediately. no wait staff on floor after 2pm to take further drink orders and had to constantly walk out of the restaurant to ask for service. when we did, the service was terrible and multiple requests were not completed. once food was finally delivered to the table it was either cold or overcooked or both. Worst part of the experience was ordering 2 medium rate steaks only to have one delivered 30 mins before the other, and the second steak cooked well done. extremely disappointed considering multiple prior visits with positive experience and great food.

   The steak was cooked perfectly and a very nice cut. The sides were complimentary with seasoning that added to the meal, well balanced. Seating and ambiance was comfortable, able to hold a conversation easily, even with the large group near. The service was spot on.

   Almost 3 hours of enjoying great food and ambiance must have been wonderful. Even though the tomahawk steak was slightly more cooked than expected, it’s great that the texture and taste were still spot on—especially with that béarnaise sauce! Limoncello tiramisu and crème brûlée both sound like the perfect sweet ending to the meal. We will be back again!

   My wife and I were very happy with the Coal Cellar & Grill. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. i would recommend the Coal Cellar& Grill to anyone that wants good food and a good night out regards Brian &Jodie

   The food was excellent. Location is good, ambiance is good. Branch seating at our table was uncomfortable for 2 of our guests. A couple of requested/ordered items never arrived. Overall a great dining experience.

    Beautiful entrees, lovely scallops and the pork belly was delicious ! Steaks for main were beautiful, chips and brocolini both very nice. Lovely Gravy, very yummy creme brulee ! Amazing SA wine list. The wine room was spectacular. Found a Tolpuddle pinot which was to die for! Not a cheap wine but worth it. Amazing service. Would love to come back again! Highly recommend. A hidden gem in Adelaide. Great atmosphere.
