Dining together allows us to better understand who we are, regardless of our social status. The food does not have to be elegant, complicated, or fancy. We find that busy people like simple food—the busier they are, the simpler the food. Our menu is straightforward, down-home Southern food with a few more contemporary dishes.

Getting back to the table allows us to love and nurture each other and renew connections to our families—however they may be configured—in this diverse and ever-changing society. Such connections are crucial in a fast-paced world where we feel more disconnected every day. One of the best ways we know how to restore that daily balance is to sit down at our table.

We should all think about returning to the sanctity of the table, where we can rebuild our families whether they be given or chosen, and reconnect with those we love and choose to love. Our table is a familiar, uncomplicated, friendly place where we can celebrate.

Went over for happy hour which ONLY includes 9 bar stools. Bait and switch tactics. So we stood by the bar for 2 hours, held our food and beverages, and ate standing up. Probably won’t go back between 3pm and 6pm. Even though we love the food, we probably won’t go back. Happy hour should be for anyone that has nothing to do between 3 and 6. ☹️

This was my wife's and my first visit to an Art Smith restaurant. We shared the kale salad, deviled eggs and the cupcakes desert. We each had fried chicken. My wife had mashed potatoes and I did the mac 'n cheese. We hardly ever order chicken when we go out. Everything was delicious. Our server was great. We were on our way to the theater and he made sure that we were on time without rushing us. Would recommend Reunion to everyone and look forward to returning and to visiting a different Art Smith restaurant.

11:30 was a great time to brunch as Navy Pier itself was not so busy. This allowed for easy seating and great ambience and service. The entire staff was friendly and filled our coffee cups on the regular. Family friendly. Great food. My only complaint which is minor and more of a preference- live preformer. While I do enjoy the arts and music , our seating location had us having to raise our voices in order to hear one another. So perhaps we just need to not sit close to that space or be aware of these live performances. Being in a booth probably didn’t help - with a live performer sitting at a table would have allowed us to shift our seats closer to hear one another better. BUT this is not any way counting against the restaurant- simply stating this for informational purposes.

Reunion has great southern comfort food. It is ideally located near the Chicago Shakespeare Theater and the service is attuned to getting you served and to the show. I have tried a lot of dishes (the excellent Fried Chicken when I'm hungry and, last night Shrimp and Grits when I was not so much) and all are tasty.

Tried several new items (calamari, shrimp & grits, Reuben) all were fabulous. Of course, had to have Mac & cheese. We’re visiting from Cleveland, have visited Homecomin in Disney Sptings and Reunion is just as fabulous.

Outrageous service charge for mid quality food before tax then still wanting a tip. Not good prices, completely overpriced. Nobody was there and the jean booths were honestly kinds weird.

We have dined here previously and were very pleased with the service and food. Tonight was a completely different experience. It took a long time for our food to be delivered, and the restaurant was not packed. One of the side dishes was forgotten from the meal. We had to flag down a waitress to let her know, and it took forever for it to get to the table. It didn’t make it to the table until after the main dishes had been finished, and this was the mac & cheese. My boyfriend loves the mac & cheese there and he orders it every time. But this time it tasted very bland and milky. He didn’t finish it-he always finished mac and cheese from Chef Art, so we were disappointed. It was removed from the bill for having to wait for so long. The portions were smaller than they usually were and the service was slower. The waitress simply dropped the check and kept going. There was also a screaming child on the other side of the restaurant that nobody attempted to address. The child sounded like they were in pain or distress and screamed and cried for about 75% of our hour long visit. To the manager’s credit, she did remove the mac & cheese from the bill and gave us a complementary cupcake.
