A cozy full service restaurant in the heart of Capitol Hill. With executive chef Joseph Nardo in our kitchen, and known Capitol Hill restaurant alumni Bart Hutchins on our floor; come and join us for cocktails, wines, and well composed french dishes in the evening. Or if you are an early bird, we have a full cafe and daytime service offering our house blend espresso, a beautiful selection of teas, and a separate daytime food menu to help you start your day. We are open Wednesday to Sunday. Our daytime service is 8am till 3pm, and dinner is from 5pm till late.

Excellent food and drinks! Very friendly staff, I think the only constructive criticism I have would be to let diners know ahead of time what items are sold out and also for the staff to write down the orders. While we thought our servers were super nice and great, we did have to remind them about 3 different items we were waiting for and hadn’t been put in as an order by them. All okay given the restaurant is new, just some feedback!!

Not sure if it’s French, Australian or something else, but yummy. Service was a tad slow but it was weekend brunch & busy.

What a gem of a restaurant. Beautiful personalized decor, excellent personable service and the food and wine - delicious. Great music as well. We will be back!

I enjoyed Butterworth's and will definitely be back again. I will also recommend to friends and family, it presents a very nice, elegant, and open environment.

My friend and I split our dishes. we started with steak tartare and pork belly. Both were delicious! Then we got the escargot and foie gras in a puff pastry which we liked. Also had the skate good but a bit salty. Dessert we had the mousse and the Pavlova. The Pavlova had this berry sauce that wasn’t very appetizing and sweet. We were not a fan of the Pavlova dessert. Overall great meal service ambience and we definitely recommend .

Finally, a new place for grown ups on Capitol Hill! Attentive owner and staff, comfortable seating and a quiet atmosphere. Food was good - looking forward to returning to try other items on the menu.
