Butchers cut is a contemporary grill and premiere steakhouse that offers an unmatched selection of beef, fish, and pasta. As the premier steakhouse of San Diego located in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter, we offer an ambiance with a rustic and vintage vibe that takes you back to a simple and classic era. Our newly installed glass meat locker on the restaurant floor is a spectacle everyone must experience in person, where patrons can handpick the piece that catches their eye.     The food was disappointing overall. The steak was overcooked, and I had to send it back, which I found quite uncomfortable. The mashed potatoes were cold and lacked flavor, while the hazelnut mousse was overly dense and heavy. Unfortunately, the experience wasn’t worth it, and I don’t plan on returning.

    We decided to have Thanksgiving there and it was overall a good experience. A couple comments are; one, to make sure staff is aware of the special dinner plans. I called a couple of times and they said you can order off the menu or choose the Thanksgiving meal but when we got there you could do that but it was all or nothing. Everyone had to order the Thanksgiving meal or order off the menu. The server was kind enough to accommodate us and we were able to do both. Also, it would be nice if the restaurant offered a complementary water option. To pay for water at $3 a bottle is a little annoying. Overall it was a good experience. Thank you!

    Food was great. I had center cut. My wife had lobster ravioli. Service was excellent. Meat was perfect.

    A lovely meal - portions big enough to split. We had the 22 ounce dry aged T-bone on the hot lava stone. Perfect! Reasonably priced for the Gaslamp.

    Our experience at Butcher’s Cut was so disappointing. The service was incredibly slow. It took nearly a full hour from the time we were seated to the time we received our meals, and there were only a few other people in the whole restaurant. In addition, the front door was open and people were smoking on the patio, subsequently filling the entire restaurant with the smell of cigarettes for the entirety of our visit. After waiting forever for our food, the food we received was not even good. We were all starving and very disappointed.

    It was just ok. I didn’t know what to expect. It was just ok. Hated that it was in Gaslamp. That should’ve been my first clue. But how often do we go down there? So we took a chance… our next outing will not be there.

    staff was so caring and on it, we weren’t even there for 30 minutes before we got our main course and the whole restaurant was packed. they made sure to do something for the birthday we were celebrating and made sure to sit us out in a good location! 10/10 would recommend. food was absolutely INCREDIBLE

    The whole experience was great. First time dining, went for my birthday and my family little going away. We had a bigger party. Everyone was happy with their food, the service and everything. Would definitely recommend and i would definitely come back. I swear food was delish!

    The reason we chose Butcher's Cut Steakhouse for our anniversary celebration was because we wanted to take advantage of the happy hour menu and try different appetizers. When we arrived at our table, it was scattered with flower petals, which was lovely! When we were presented with menus we asked about the Happy Hour and were told that it would only be honored if we sat at the bar. We were disappointed and thought this was very misleading and false advertising but decided to make the best of the situation. Throughout the night, we were really won over and will definitely be recommending Butcher's Cut to everyone. We shared a Wedge Salad (could do without the carrots which really don't belong on a Wedge Salad) but otherwise great. I had the Lobster Ravioli, and my husband had the Venison dish. Both were terrific! The corn and bacon side dish tasted like canned corn and was watery, so that needs improvement. Our server, Sinem, could not have been kinder, friendlier or more attentive; she really took great care of us and enhanced our experience greatly. Several other employees stopped by our table and wished us Happy Anniversary, which was very touching. After we finished our meal, we were presented with 2 glasses of Champagne and an absolutely delicious piece of limoncello cake, all complimentary, which was a great surprise and greatly appreciated! All-in-all, we really felt pampered, appreciated, welcomed and had a wonderful celebration for our special day! Thanks so much to everyone at the Butcher's Cut!
