Brasserie la Banque is a neighborhood French restaurant nestled in historic downtown Charleston, SC. Paying homage to traditional French cuisine in a lively and welcoming environment, Brasserie la Banque celebrates life's memorable moments from impromptu drinks to convivial gatherings and leisurely meals. Led by owner and industry veteran Steve Palmer of Indigo Road Hospitality Group, the restaurant is a culmination of Palmer's work and his passion for the classic French brasserie and its cuisine. The menu features a selection of traditional French dishes alongside more innovative fare. Aptly named for its previous role as a city bank, Brasserie la Banque is located within the iconic 1 Broad Street corner building that dates back to the 1700s.

    We enjoyed a late Valentines dinner last night. Libby was our server and took wonderful care of us. We especially loved the steak tartare and the cocktail specials. It was very busy because of the holiday weekend but we still enjoyed our time there! Looking forward to our next visit to Brasserie.

    My husband & I were very impressed. The customer service was excellent & the food was incredible! The duck was crispy yet tender & flavorful. My husband was so happy with his choice of the halibut. We sat at the chef’s counter & the chef was energetic and friendly. Our waitress was wonderful and very attentive. We will definitely visit again!

    From checking in, to leaving after dinner, it was a very enjoyable time. Waitstaff were cordial, without being over bearing. Food was well prepared and delicious. Very French lookin restaurant. We have been a few times and consistently nice experience.

    Seating was a wee tight. But the ambience with light filtering in through the huge glass windows gave the space an open yet cosy feeling. Service was attentive without the need for summoning. If you are ordering off the Pastry menu be warned - you will be packing your other orders to take home. The Brioche Coffee Croissant will be forever in my memory. The location is a great asset.

    This is one of the best restaurants in Charleston - and that's saying a lot. You are welcomed the minute you walk in the door of this lovely and cozy bistro. Great food served by a talented team of wait staff. A lively bar with knowledgeable bartenders (thanks David & Brett). Everyone in the restaurant strives to make your meal memorable. Always a great time.

    While the mussels in garlic butter sauce were delicious, it would have been better to have bread with it to enjoy the sauce (like they do in Europe). Also, the roasted beet salad was very tasty but there was scant blue cheese to highlight the flavors as listed in the menu. The crepe cake is outstanding.

    Fantastic food and stellar service. I had the beet salad and beef bourguignon. The salad was fresh with pickled onions and sharp blue cheese. The beef was tender and served on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes.
