We are a first generation Portuguese and Brazilian, family-owned restaurant that prides itself on the experience as well as our fresh and authentic food. Our family is heavily influenced by both countries and we are doing our best to give every guest a taste of both cultures.

When you dine here, we want you to feel like you are a part of our family. In both Portugal and Brazil, sitting down to a meal is more than just time spent eating. It's the little moments in life that we get to spend with our family and friends that make life so special. Food will always have the ability to bring people together and we are pleased to be able to share our recipes passed down to us from both sides of our family.

Started in 1979 by our father Alfredo Pedro (left), Ipanema is the product of 40 years of passion and dedication to providing the best hospitality experience possible.

So was schlechtes bekommt man in Deutschland für diesen Preis nicht. Diskussion mit dem Servicepersonal was Medium beim Steak bedeutet, ich habe ein Steak bekommen was absolut durch war, der Servicemitarbeiter wollte mir weiß machen das das Medium in den USA ist. Eine Frechheit war das das Trinkgeld mit 15% auf der Rechnung stand.

Norwalk has a growing Latin restaurant community & Boteco Ipanema, representing the Portuguese influence in Brazil, does a great job of turning out beautifully prepared plates of food in generous portions. Shrimp & rice dishes were simple but immensely flavorful with the prefect cook on the shrimp & chicken breast with delicious lemon sauce was tender. Fried Chicken breast filets were also a big hit. Our service from Omar was friendly & helpful. As our group dined during the lunch hour, & we shared the restaurant’s space with just a few other couples, I can’t comment on how noisy/busy this place may get on date night/weekends. Omar informed us that Fridays & Saturdays could be busy with patrons enjoying modern Latin music & that Sunday’s were more laid back with music to commemorate that laid back atmosphere. Translation: the place hops with youthful ‘let’s party ! ‘ exuberance on weekends, with Sundays being more relaxed. This place is on a busy street with limited parking but there is a fee parking lot behind the building. Boteca does have both a front & back entrance, so that’s convenient if you park in the lot.

I love this restaurant go very often but the last 2 times there I was very disappointed for the quality of there caipirinha. Last time was the worst drink ever.

Excellent food and service. We especially enjoyed the paella The grilled shrimp was very good as an appetizer.

I am very disappointed really like this place but the service was very bad I felt sorry for the waiter running out all over place, needs more helpers for sure. Also the drinks was terrible.

Service was terrible. It was so terrible we felt like we were being pranked it was so bad. We had to remind our server several times about appetizers and each time she responded like she had no recollection of us ordering them. After about 40 minutes one of the 3 of our appetizers came and again when we reminded her she said someone else took our other two and they would be right out. Our dinner came and still no appetizers. Our server sat down at the bar and had dinner and was hanging out with her friends and never came back to check on us. So we were not offered another round of drinks or even asked how everything was. We managed to get a busser to stop so that we could ask about the appetizers. He finally brought them out even though we were pretty much done with our meals. The appetizers came out incorrect. Server still sitting at the bar enjoying herself… at the end of our meal when our table was cleared she finally came back and abruptly asked if we wanted boxes. We planned on having dessert but with this kind of service we knew it would be 2 hours before we got it and it would likely be wrong. There were only about 1-5 other tables of people the entire time we were there so its not like it was a crazy night for them. The food was good but the service was atrocious. Worst we have ever experienced.
