We’re a casual and cozy restaurant serving up Asian small plates—from fun improvisations on that theme to faithful renditions of classic dishes that we love. We love the name “bonito” because it’s both the Spanish word for “beautiful” and the name of one of the most important fish in Japanese cuisine. Thus, it’s the perfect name for a restaurant that seeks to explore the shared traits in the cuisines of Vallarta and Vietnam, delving into our mutual love for funk, citrusy brightness, and carefully calibrated spice.

This location is in Zona Romántica right next to the beautiful 200-year-old Banyan Tree. Comfortable air-conditioned dining room and a gorgeous outdoor garden provide the perfect setting for all occasions.

Our most popular items are ramen, pho, pork belly bao, soft-shell crab bao, coconut shrimp rolls, summer rolls, green papaya salad, potstickers, lobster dumplings, pork belly dumplings, teriyaki salmon, Korean BBQ beef, and green curry.

    Bonito Kitchen is one of our go-to restaurants in PV. The pho dumplings, all of the ramens are soooo tasty.

    This restaurant was a excellent find! The food was absolutely delicious, with fresh ingredients and flavorful dishes. What really made the experience special was the lovely decor, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. And to top it all off, the outdoor patio was the perfect spot to enjoy our meal, with a relaxing ambiance. I highly recommend this place for a memorable dining experience!

    Food was excellent. Service was attentive although more than one server coming to the table made it a little confusing. Beautiful area in the back patio. And the prices are reasonable and portions good for sharing.

    The food and the drinks were good. Some of the dishes came out cold, but the service was slow as they were slammed. The staff was super nice and knowledgeable. I will try again when they are not so busy.

    We loved everything about our dinner at Bonito. From the unusual and delicious Bonito cocktail to the gyoza and shrimp dumpling appetizers to our entrees, our tummies were very happy when we left. I liked the filling in both the appetizers - it was chunky with the meat and shrimp, not pasty like you often find. My Korean BBQ ribs (boneless short ribs) with kimchi, veggies, and rice was an amazing combination of flavors and textures. The meat was so tender and wonderful. My husband's Japchae - sweet potato noodles with vegetables with added pork belly he requested was very flavorful. The only drawback was that the chunks of pork belly were kind of dry. Our service was fantastic. The whole restaurant is beautiful.

    Always a great experience but Francine was too busy and didn’t stop by the table this time. The food is exceptional and the music and ambience is always very pleasant. The seared tuna and the baby ramen bowls are a must try.  The drink list offers a good pairing. And for tea drinkers, the ginger tea I would highly recommend. It will cleanse any ailment.
