   Our server was very rude because we had specific dietary restrictions. As he was entering our order into the system that was located at the bar, I went over to him to ask a question,. He was literally 5 feet away, and even though I called him by name, he refused to acknowledge my presence. Instead of acknowledging me, he turned to his co-worker to ask him to help with another table because he had a very "weird' order. He was no better when he came back to our table to let us know that the restaurant was out of Mahi Mahi. He didn't give us another menu, and instead just asked what we wanted. This could have all been avoided if he started by asking if we had any food allergies. He did not. The manager, Nikki was very nice, and asked if there was anything that she could do AFTER we paid our bill, and I asked to speak to a manager. I told her no. Even with a discount, I refuse to spend my hard-earned dollars and be treated disrespectfully.

   I went to the Blackwall in Columbia and didn’t have a good experience. The Blackwall in Gambrils Md. was far better. I had a better experience. The food was fresher and it was replenished often. We arrived around 12:30 the fried chicken was old and they didn’t cook anymore- and when I asked they server and the manager both looked at there watch. The spice shrimp was old and dry and there was no salad or fresh fruit. It was not worth $48. I will not go back. If you go you need to when the restaurant first opens. You need to do better. Disappointed Customer

   Outside of the food, the staff is beyond a 10! Management check on their guest. Everyone is so attentive and friendly

   This was one of my favorites until my experience last night. Waiter forgot appetizers drinks…total disappointment. Food took an incredibly long time to come out to table. No apology from restaurant until I asked why. Will cut this restaurant off of my list. Total disappointment.

   Sent my parents here for their anniversary and they were essentially ignored and didn’t had to ask repeatedly for service. They waited about 20 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge them at their table. Disappointing.

   Not bad, friendly service. Had chef special- bacon wrapped bison. The only down side was that we would chg./ modify the vegetable. Plate is as is, which is a waste because if the veggie isn’t of preference it ends up in the trash.

   This is an outstanding brunch. The food is delicious! The atmosphere is very nice and on theme with Barn & Lodge name. I would highly recommend.

   Went on a Saturday night, so they had live music. Nothing loud. Soft acoustic guitar covers. Food was great. Though the fries were soggy. A different style fry would have been a better menu choice. All-in-all a good Saturday date night idea.

   I had a waiter named Kyle who had terrific customer service and knew the menu well, and the restaurant was a nice relaxed setting. The calamari starter I had was perfect, but my lamb shank lacked in flavor , it was just cooked meat in a sense but the mashed potatoes and gravy it came with were enjoyable. As for my date the Chesapeake pasta was a nice taste but the flavor could've been enhanced. I also ordered a Shirley Temple but requested it be made with ginger ale instead of Sprite. Instead of serving a properly mixed drink, they brought me a glass of grenadine with a can of ginger ale on the side. Since it wasn’t mixed properly, it mostly just tasted like ginger ale. I expected them to prepare the drink as they would any other, so this was disappointing. If you're looking for new scenery in your restaurant selection I would recommend trying it out.

    This was my first time dining at Blackwall Barn & Lodge. My husband was recommended this restaurant from a coworker with high praises. We decided to celebrate our 15 year anniversary at Blackwall Barn & Lodge. When reserving our table I requested for special seating. The staff did not disappoint. Our server Kayla was outstanding with recommendations of food and drinks. She was attentive and helpful throughout the night. The food was absolutely delicious and the drinks were tasty. In the end I did not want to leave my comfortable table by the fireplace. My husband and I did order dessert to go. We would definitely recommend Blackwall Barn and Lodge to anyone celebrating a special occasion or you just want to have dinner after a hard day at work with friends or family.
