St Patrick’s Day is celebrated around the world by both Irish and non-Irish alike. But what do you know about traditional Irish cuisine? For generations potatoes were the main staple of Irish food resulting in many tasty ways to use them. This workshop isn’t all about potatoes you will also learn a variety of traditional dishes just right to soak up the black stuff.

You can enjoy homemade sandwiches and pastries, freshly made scones and cakes along with a cup of tea or glass of fizz either in our King's Suite, Cloister Garden, Parlour Bar or Restaurant. Please let us know of any dietaries or allergies upon booking. We're currently unable to accommodate a vegan afternoon tea. Available on Fridays and Saturdays between 2.45-4.00pm. Please note; Afternoon Tea may be served in our King's Suite, which is located on the first floor. If you require a more accessible table, please get in touch to let us know.

Curry comes from the Tamil word ‘kari’ meaning spicy sauce for rice. Ginger, garlic and turmeric have been found to have been combined for a sauce as far back as 4,000 years ago. Today, whether in Asia, India, Africa, The Americas or the Caribbean, it seems the whole world wants to spice-up their food and create their own curry! Now here’s a chance to create your own! We will look at and make dishes that include spices from around the world as well as making two or three curries from countries you may not have realized make curry.
