Home to one of the largest music festivals in the UK, Reading is the perfect place to drum up an appetite. Luckily, there’s a Bill’s waiting for you in the centre of town. Swing on by to tuck into one of our signature dishes after a day of shopping, or perhaps re-hydrate after a gorgeous walk along the Thames. What a beautiful building this branch is in! Family of 4 (inc 1 teen & 1 new student!) having lunch out. All starters good (chorizo & hones/dumplings/flatbread.) Mains : burgers great, as were the calamari and sides of halloumi fries. Chicken shawarma sounded flavoursome from the description but didn't quite live up to it - definitely needed the dips supplied with it. Salad with it a bit odd in terms of ingredients eg. strangely high ratio of radishes! Those who had sticky toffee pudding also very happy. Overall this I think was the nicest Bill's we've been to - ambience, decor, the building itself, and the service all 5 star. And the student discount very welcome too!

The service was bad…very bad. Our waitress made it very clear she hates her job. Sadly for Bills Reading the terrible service means we shall never return . Once our main course plates had been cleared we did not see a member of staff until we approached one to request our bill. To be offered a dessert would have been nice and a smile always helps. Truly shocking .

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Each dish was clearly made with care, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. The service was equally impressive—friendly, attentive, and quick. The staff made sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal. Overall, a fantastic dining experience that I would highly recommend!

The promotion info was misleading or confusing. I saw a poster outside the restaurant a couple of days ago saying £5 all day pancake, which is why we decided to go for it. But when I visited Bill’s website, it says £8.95 (everyday) and when I booked a table it says £9.50 (all per person price). I tried calling before going over as I wanted to make sure they serve vegan pancake at the Reading branch. The phone doesn’t connect me to a human. When I arrived, I was told that the £5 was for weekdays only (instead of everyday as mentioned on the website). When I asked why, I was told that DIFFERENT BRANCH HAS DIFFERENT PRICE. I’m not sure if this makes sense. Pancakes are not petrol. Imagine buying the same shirt for different prices in different John Lewises! Once we’ve sat down, I asked the waitress how the bottomless pancake works. She gave me a smirk and said - well it’s bottomless, you order as much as you can have. So we ordered 2 sets each.. I was told that we can only order 1 set (3 pieces) at a time as they would like to serve the pancakes hot. Fair enough. She then suggested that we put the 2nd plate order in as soon as the first plate arrived. When the first plate arrived, we told the person who served us (I think she was the Manager) that we would like to order the 2nd plate. We were told to finish the first plate first! Again, different person different info! Finally, we did also order bottomless hot drinks. However, we only had 1 cup each. We were charged the price for bottomless and I asked if we can be charged the Ala carte price instead. She said no at first but I asked if she can check with her Manager. After checking, they reduced it. (Thank you for this.) She came back with a new bill and said, it’s ONLY £1 cheaper. Well, £1 goes a long way my friend… The vegan blueberry pancake was nice. My husband enjoyed it. However mine was quite dry but I did enjoy the chocolate plate instead of the fruit option.

Rushed and rude at entry; Although the food was lovely, the experience was not good at all. Plenty of staff but all rushing around stressed and evidently not enjoying the day. Appreciate it was busy, but service with a smile it was not. We were an inconvenience. Having brought our 12 week old baby with us, we were looking for a lovely, rare meal out and we were essentially hurried out as quick as we could, even having booked the table. We’ve had some lovely experience at Bills - this wasn’t one of them

Food.is great, but portions did not even fill up.the children. Even with the children eating for free, the bill was still £52 for 2 adults and 2 children not including service charge. Drinks for kids still cost seperately. Had to buy food later. This was fir Dinner. I suggest just go for breakfast.

I come here often and the service is always excellent.I was greeted by a lady called yvoner I think that was the name I heard her being called .She was warm and friendly and efficient considering it was fathers day
