   Loved Kirsten on Top Chef. We came in with high hopes but we left feeling mediocre. Partially because they were out of 2 items we really wanted to try. Also, as a vegetarian, the menu is pretty limited. They did however make a substitution for one item and it was delicious.

   The windows really make this restaurant nice because they dont have an outside space and the rest of the restaurant is kind of dark with low ceilings. We asked to sit by the window and the host said, no (all the window tables were open). We asked how we could get a window seat next time and she wouldnt give a straight answer, but basically said we are not important enough. Even if we put a request in our reservation she said, no, you dont get a window. It was incredibly rude and ruined the rest of the meal.

   I’ve been a fan of Kristen’s for a long time as a big Top Chef fan. The food was absolutely delicious. My only comments are that the menu seemed very all over the place and did not tell a cohesive story. The ambience also leaves a lot to be desired. The restaurant is in the lobby of a hotel and it felt very open and cafeteria like. Not what I would have expected. It would benefit from creating more intimate, enclosed spaces to make it feel more special and worthy of such a talented chef. Service was great!

   Food was absolutely delicious! We had the cauliflower, rigatoni and the pork chop. All were fantastic. Only complaint was the service was a bit slow. We received water and then saw no one for about 5 minutes. The time between second and third course took forever. However, it was worth the wait once we received it. Will definitely return here our next visit to Austin!

   Food was so salty we couldn’t finish it. Table was in the middle of the bar and space didn’t have a great ambiance. Maybe it we were near window it would have been better, but the space was nothing special and the food was disappointing. I’m so sad because I’m such a fan of Kristin’s cooking, but this all fell flat.

    I have eaten here many times and have always been very impressed with the food and service. This visit was not up to the same level as my past visits. The crispy rice is one of my favorite dishes, but was lackluster on the latest visit. And the chicken schnitzel was ok, but nothing special. Server was not as helpful or attentive as servers from my past visits.
