Añada on Gertrude Street in Fitzroy, serves a tapas menu mainly influenced by the food of Andalusia, Southern Spain and the flavours of the Mediterranean.

Originally founded in 2008 by Jesse and Vanessa Gerner, the team at Añada highly value sustainable efforts and community outreach, and champion local farmers, producers and providers as often as possible.

In the years since its opening, Añada has grown to be known as a neighbourhood staple, offering a menu that pairs authentic Spanish foods with an extensive wine and sherry list. The warm, intimate atmosphere is complemented by knowledgeable, friendly service.

bad service Had to ask for the menu long after sitting down, Had to then ask for cutlery to be given, plates to be taken away etc because no one came to our attention Paella took >30mins to come out after the tapas Asked for the bill but never came so just had to go up to the reception to pay. Food was just average and overpriced. Small portion too. I’ve been to many fine dining restaurants and this is the slowest and poorest service I’ve experienced

Top flight and outside the CBD. We ate croquettes, octopus, papas bravas, lamb skewers, salad, and on and on. Delicious and savory dishes all accompanied with a dry pink Spanish cava. Camilla and staff were gracious and diligent. We had a memorable evening indeed. Thank you making for our last holiday night in Melbourne memorable. We return to America happy.

We had a lovely time here of our new years eve dinner out. The host, which looked like the shift leader was very friendly and accomodating. helpful with the menu, great recs for food and drink. As busy and little hectic it seemed at times the service team worked well together, which is something I just naturally observe with my 8 years of hospitality experience in Canada and in Melbourne. Food same out in a timely matter. The only critiques I have, are that the chairs at the bar were quite uncomfortable. However, we did choose in our booking to sit at the bar so not much of an issue there. The menu advertised tuna tartar and we received swordfish instead... so not sure what happened there but it was still a delicious and unique dish. We would recommend the Potato Bravas for sure our fav, the scallop was out of this world, the homemade complimentary sourdough was a nice touch, and the croquettes super crispy and cheesy. I had the blood orange paloma, which the bartender changed it to tequila for me and it was soo light, fresh and tasty! Definitely recommend for a date night out

Made a booking for inside the restaurant through open table. Was sat outside. When asked to move was advised it wouldn’t happen because they were due to close soon. When i insisted as it was cold outside the waitress became annoyed at me and the service diminished from that point. I ordered a wine they didn’t have so they brought to the table a different wine describing it at the ‘cousin’ to the one i ordered. Food was very good although all meals didn’t arrive at the same time so we could eat them together. And lastly we were charged $72 for sparkling water. If they didn’t want to serve last minute customers they shouldn’t have accepted the booking. I’ve been to this restaurant many times over the years. This visit was the worst. It made me question if it has had a change of ownership or management. Either way I’m a local that won’t be returning.
