We first imagined Aloette to be the perfect diner that we’d want to dine in – a menu with a great cheeseburger paired with a fantastic and fun wine list, a long row of bar stools facing the bar and the kitchen, and an energetic atmosphere accented with an old school hip hop playlist. The buzz of the dining room mirrors the energy of the street on Spadina Avenue; the dining room itself mimics a train’s dining car. It’s a bistro-meets-diner-meets-internationally-inspired menu which is also representative of the diverse culture in Toronto. Our service team is upbeat and genuine but also deeply knowledgeable about the menu and offerings.

Brunch at Aloette was something we said we’d never do. But the city kept asking and we’re glad to be a new staple in the Queen West neighbourhood for mimosas, chicken and waffles, and piping hot coffees.

    Living in a city with an excess of excellent dining options and food in general, it is a very rare occasion that my partner and I visit the same place twice, let alone over and over, like we do with Aloette. Without fail the service is always perfect in a natural, comfortable and non-formalistic or overbearing way. Such service is not teachable - they have done an excellent job selecting their people. With respect to the food, it is always excellent, and if not excellent, very good. Having dined at Aloette since ~2020, there have been some more experimental dishes that we perhaps would not order again. That said, the permanent menu items, which seem to include the Aloette Burger, a crudo option, a tartare option, wedge salad, a protein option (i.e., steak), are always 10/10. The culmination of the ambience, service, and reliably excellent food has always facilitated the making of happy memories with loved ones. That's a rare thing.

    Overall restaurant experience was great. Music a little loud for conversation. Food was very good, fries and tots were on the cool side and too many leftover bits in the fries. Service was great attention to detail, The Manager was the best, welcoming, friendly, good sense of humour and very attentive.

    Aloette is even better than all the hype. The service was excellent, cocktails perfectly executed and the food was delicious.

    Everything we ordered was phenomenal. We have been here multiple times and always have a good experience. Our waiter, Andrew was amazing and knowledgeable on all their dishes.

    The food was really tasty, as expected. Good service, everyone was courteous and polite. The place was full, and with the music it was a bit too loud overall. Still a very good experience.

    Incredible!!! Service. Food. Ambiance. Music. Perfection. We didn’t realize there was a time constraint as we were caught up in our convo, and the next table had arrived…so we weren’t able to order the spectacular lemon meringue pie which we were a bit sad about, but then poof! They were so thoughtful and put in a bag for us when we were leaving. That’s the epitome of hospitality. I love it here, the food is perfection. Everything is. Cannot recommend it enough! Wedge salad, tots, chicken, scallops - everything was divine.
